Where to find that one point to upgrade those glaives to named... I don't wanna give up the uniformity of PS and I don't wanna give up crackshot.... What to do, what to do. It's suppose to be so easy!

I even think there's an argument for 3 Glaives instead of 2+Vessery. The 1 point bid gives you a big advantage in the mirror match, even if it might be slightly weaker against some other lists.

Because getting his ability every time is a must. Or able to keep the TL due to rolling good. Or if one of the defenders doesn't have a shot nor will get shot, but can set him up.

I mean, guess it's worthless, complete trash, only a corner case. I shouldnt even try it before discrediting it. My dreams dashed to pieces by anonymous forum goers that get stuff wrong most of the time. All is for naught.

Seriously though, your complaint is completely nulled as long as someone has forsight on their flying.

What? No one is saying Vessery is bad, he's great! It's just dangerous to assume that his ability us free.

My main gripe with Glaives is that I wanted them to be 33 points so I could run 3 with Juke and x7.

To be honest, the new hotness that is Ryad has soothed my disappointment somewhat. ;)

I know I'll find myself flying Delta and Glaive Sq. pilots. Deltas for cheap defenders, Glaives for the times I want to fly 2 Defenders and don't want to pay the points for the necessary upgrades to Stele/Brath, or give my opponent a automatic primary target like Ryad. PS 5-6 generics with EPT have a pretty good place in my lists because I rarely find the lower PS uniques worth the points for their abilities. Its the same reason I take Royal Guard pilots over any other Interceptor pilot (aside from Turr, Fel, and Jax)- their decent PS and EPT slot are worth more to me than possibly lukewarm abilities.

Yeah I mean Vessery is still a monster I just have played with him a decent amount and he has a cost in list building and in the actions of your other ships. His ability is so powerful it warps your list, so it's not at all that he's situational or trash he's just so strong that it is a good idea to keep in mind the price of power that comes with him, namely you need target locks and you want them since he's nuts.

Forget Glaives, they are dead to me. The rest of the box has enough goofy toys to play with.

Colonel Vessery (35)
Push the Limit (3)
Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)
TIE/x7 (-2)

Countess Ryad (34)
Stay On Target (2)
Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)
TIE/x7 (-2)

and a support ship like a Lambda or TIE Shuttle. Handing a target lock to Ryad means Vessery gets target locks too.

There's a bunch of wacky combos for different lists.

Tomax Bren (24)
Crack Shot (1)
Systems Officer (2)
Intelligence Agent (1)
TIE Shuttle (0)
