Except VSDs, VSDs are irredeamable.
Imo, there are only 2 ships I consider garbage, and one of them still has its great uses:
The raider is really only good to add activations or in like those 5 ship lists.
The other is the VSD which REALLY NEEDS new toys.
All the rest have great uses. Neb B and MC80 have taken games around here to great effect.
I saw a new way of thinking with ISDs recently and I think it'll breathe new life into the ship if the player is good.

Ton for ton, you cannot find a more efficient squadron carrier than the beautiful, angular VSD.

Personally as a carrier I haven't seen it used effectively because it's so many points that the VSD itself is required to be at long range combat to get efficiency out of it. Which means it comes within firing range.
