Doesn't boost only work on 1 green maneuvers? Since the A-wing doesn't have those maneuvers how does it work? Am I completely wrong as to how boost works?
A-wing boost question
A boost action is done using either the straight or 1 bank templates. A boost action is not a manouever and so it does not matter if the ship does not have those moves on its dial.

Boost bears no relation at all to the manoeuvres on a ship's dial. It's an action, not a manoeuvre.
To execute a boost, you but the 1 straight or 1 bank template in the front guides of the ship, and move the ship so the back guides are at the end of the template. If the ship would overlap an obstacle or another ship, you can't execute the boost, and you put the ship back at the start of the template and may choose a different direction or another action entirely.
Boost have no colour, and are not manoeuvres, and can be executed by any ship which has a way to do so - either the action on its bar, an engine upgrade, pilot ability, or upgrade action.
Oops didn't mean to say boost was a maneuver. To verify your saying is that boost can be used after any maneuver I decide to do?
Yes. If you have boost in your action bar, or an upgrade card that gives you the ability (e.g. Engine Upgrade or Daredevil), you can perform a boost as your action.
Remember though, if you're stressed you cannot perform actions and that includes boosting.

With a couple of exceptions including the A-Wing pilot Tycho which can make it relevant to this discussion.
