So is Arya the character who doesn't follow through on anything now?

That's what I don't like about the tv show version. In the book, she does kill a bunch of people and totally does what she is supposed to with the Faceless Men. She doesn't "mess up". In a preview chapter for the next book, they have the whole theatre troop, but she is told to join them to learn how to act. While she is there, she sees some people on her list that are guarding an envoy from Westeros to the Iron Bank. They take in a play. She murders them and decides to leave the Faceless Men to go back home and kill everyone. So...she totally follows through on everything.

Basically the guy she kills at the inn with the hound is the guy she kills above, a man who was on her list.

Additionally, she kills someone else at the inn in the books who was also on her list. Though, the list is more like "guidelines" than an actual list.

But her storyline in the books... man, i know it would be really hard to do in a TV show but she is so much more badass.

I don't see how Sam is going to avoid his father with that Valyrian steel sword. I mean, he's going to the Citadel. It's not like he can hide or something. Though, how much you want to bet he's going to kill an Other with it?

Is he going to the Citadel though? The show is off the reservation on all the other plots so why not his. Its possible that he dips out back to the north

It seems to me as though - with Arya and the Lannister's current arcs - that the series took a brief detour abs and is now circling back to the books. Jamie is off to Riverrun; check. Arya killed Trant out of sequence; check.

This is down to the myopic manatee's snail's paced writing, for me. The series threw a couple of things out of sequence and pur some arcs on hold for a season to give him a chance to gethis act together, and since he didn't, they're now circling back to the books in a bid to give him ANOTHER chance.

Nah she kills Raff in Bravos, but all in all yes I see your point. Honestly, I think it comes down to Dorne being a complete screw up that people are so annoyed a Jaime's pacing.

The future political situation of Cersei and Dany shifted enormously this weekend in the books and movie, IMO. That new Euron chapter changes Dany's future just as much.

What were her crimes that she admitted to? It wasn't that she slept with her brother. It was that she slept with Lancel and a few others. Maybe murdered someone. It wasn't about King Robert. As for the High Sparrow...he's not going to knock down his pawn on the throne.

Sansa is staying north she is sending Brienne to riverrun so I would not be surprised by a LSH appearance

Errr....Stoneheart has gotten all the Brotherhood Without Banners to plague the Freys. They killed a bunch of them, too. She's done more against the Freys than just silently menace. Well, she's leading the Brotherhood without Banners. It's not actually her doing it, but she is directing them.

There's also the whole bit about Brienne and Jamie having to duel or be hung.

Does it matter that it's on page actions? I mean, there was on page action of killing all those Freys. She wasn't there, but you know it was her directing it. I don't really need to see her directly do things to feel she's having an effect on things.

There are a lot of things that aren't necessarily crucial to the big picture that are also really cool, though. The Freys were always more strategic allies due to their control of the Twins. You can't move an army around without them.

I think all the book people that are worried about spoilers are not touching this thread since the entire season is a spoiler (maybe). There is the other thread that was started to talk about the book only, but since there is no new info....it's been slow.

OK...you are talking tv show now, so it does make a difference. Sure, if it's tv show, then she can get screen time. Maybe she will be showing up now and playing a bigger part in the story? She won't spoil the Jon Snow rebirth that everyone who read the books saw coming a mile away.

Well, it hasn't happened yet so obviously not canon. But, the brotherhood is being hinted at having a red wedding 2.0 in the books where she would probably fit in fairley (HA) prominently.

I hope Red Wedding 2.0 is just Nymeria's pack consuming the last of the Freys and Boltons. I think the return of Nymeria is likely in the books and more likely than SH in the show.

They won't kill the High Sparrow anytime soon. I do wonder who the champion for the Seven will be, though. Lancel? I doubt it. Or, if that, he won't live afterwards. Wait!....I know! It will be The Hound! Remember that he's in that monastery. He will get his revenge on his brother!!!!
