How do bids affect the score?

By clontroper5, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

so with some Crazy bidding wars starting to happen in our Vassal meta I was thinking about how to score bids and it occurred to me, I have no clue...

basically I'm asking if the bid is "safe" until you get tabled or is it given up points?

so say if Cninja rolls in with his 27 point bid is that 27 points for his opponent?

If he gets Tabled, of course.

But so are Squadrons in that calculation as well, so most people are playing around 300-350 anyway .

You score points for ships destroyed, not for how far below 400 the other fleet has left at the end of the game.

Yeah, but kill 300 points of his ships, get 400 points, is still a bonus :)

I don't disagree, was just laying it out explicitly for anyone else who happened by. I get this question sometimes IRL, so I know it's out there.

The amount of points under someone is does not matter. That is of course they are tabled.

If you only have 350 points and lost 100 of that your opponent only gets the 100 points and whatever Victory points he/she has acquired.

This is actually a way to keep yourself from loosing to badly or to keep your point loss to a minimum. It is also risky because getting tabled gives points to your opponent.
