A quick question about the New Royal Guard Cards

By Folkenhellfang, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Once I saw these cards I began asking around my FLGS is any were doing organized play, only to find that was a big no. I decided to go ahead and buy a set off eBay.

I'm just wondering if I got ripped off. The price was certainly in the impulse zone, but they feel super thin, like two of them together feels about right. I haven't seen any of these double sided cards before, so I don't want to act rashly.

Thanks.

They're printed from the FFG in house printing stuff. They will be thinner and lighter etc. It's normal. All of the alternate art cards are like that.

Thank you. My group had finished the box campaign and we are on the Twin Shadows finale.

These cards make it easier to keep the updates visible and understandable. They just seem really thin.

I remember getting my first promo card from ebay and thinking the same thing. Then I got one handed to me at an event. Yep, thin, slight variations in cut and color (not quite as vibrant) but yes they are the real thing from FFG's in house printing...

The cards are thin, and the font they use is godawful.

Yeah the font is the worst part... it's smaller and blurry. Honestly looks like someone could do a better job on a home printer. I will happily sell my 10+ bantha cards.... And man, that Chewie alt art. I know art is subjective but that is totally not my taste.

Yeah I have found that the designs for the IA alt art cards are generally not as nice as the cards for Xwing or Armada for some reason :(.

I'm perfectly happy with what I did - I printed the corrected cards on standard paper, made sure it was slightly smaller than the actual card, and slid it into the plastic sleeve with the card. Print quality is good enough to read the card, its done in full colour, and you wouldn't know the difference from behind, so my players don't know what cards I have in reserve.

I don't have access to the promo cards but on board games geek they have a PDF of all the cards with the changes and I've printed those out and put them in sleeves with the rest of the card and that's worked out good enough as it has ALL the changes to those cards and makes it easy to keep track of
