I was surprise in reading in the magic book about one-eyed monsters and six limbed reptiles slinging magic. Could the Fimir and zoats be coming back?

Whilst not enough to entice me to 3rd edition, I would definitely welcome the return of the Fimir and Zoats, esp the Fimir who have potential to be real badass. Ultimately down to GW as I don't believe they exist in the current Warhammer canon. That's assumng they are not someone else's property like Kaleb Dark and Malal (Go Doomed Ones!). I suspect they will remain just a hint in the book. Happy to be proved wrong though.
O. this would be great - if two of the coll races from 1st edition would come back. The Fimir are very intersting and a nice alternative (not after all the bad thing should be Skaven), and Zoats also are a nice suprise. I remember a session when I was a player and my old GM used the Zoats in his adventure, this was quite a suprise when we saw them and did not know how to act.
I think that many of really interesting creatures from 1st ed shoul come back and I hope they will with some old Gods (like Mallal or Arianka) and the Old Faith. I know that Druids are now in Jade Collage but still the Old faith should not be forgoten.
Gork & Mork?
Haletha and Rhya?

No chance of Malal returning as GW do not have the copyright for it, I believe that lies with who wrote the Kaleb Dark comic strip for the Citadel Journal quite a few years back
Gotta say I would love to see the Zoat(s) and Fims as well. Especially the Fims!!!

AFAIK, that has not been the case for quite some time. While their wa a rights 'issue' (The issue being no-one was sure which party owned the Trademark) it was resolved some time ago, for example before the printing of Dying of the Light at Hogshead.
The reason that GW do not use Malal is the exact same reason they do not use Zoats and Fimir.

Which is?

That I honestly cannot tell you, apart from they just do not want too.
While they are happy to recycle concepts that stand pretty much outside the main thrust of the IP, such as Amazons (2 regements of renown) and even on occasion Jungle Halflings (Warmaster, Lustria Book), things like Fimir, Malal and Zoats seem to be under a topic ban.
Well, part of it was certain units were never popular in the WFB game; i.e. the minis never sold.
Also, IIRC, there was a lot of concern over the Fimir and their breeding practices (stealing human woman and ****** them). Kinda adult material there...

Neither did Jungle Halflings, they still refer to them.
I do not think the Fimir breeding practice excuse really stands up when they have Slaanesh either tbh. Its not like you would expect a Fimir artical to mention how they reproduce, they have mamaged to avoid anything but the vauguest reference to orc reproduction for around 10 years. ;o)
