Edited by ficklegreendiceAs someone who takes orders from just one person I can't help but play scum.
I find you lack of faith disturbing.
In all seriousness, I play Empire almost exclusively because I, simply, don't have the time to become good at all factions. When I first started playing my kids wanted to be Rebel, so I took Imperial and have never looked back. I buy everything, but with as few games as I play (I have not played in about a month due to baseball) I have to focus on something.

Nothing in English...
That's an Empire thing, the players somehow are attracted to HUMANITY FIRST and other Human Superiority ideals
I don't deny the above fits me perfectly. I think I've lampshaded this in another thread somewhere.
Starcraft/2 I play almost exclusively Terran.
40K is guard/marines/chaos
Star Wars I am predominantly Imperial.
I love Sci fi series like SAAB/Wing Commander/Halo etc as it's humanity vs various gribblies.
I consider myself neither sexist or racist, but definitely humanocentric.
HFY club is eternally growing ![]()
I've never seen the point in deliberately limiting myself to only one flavor of the game.Indeed, people who do so miss half the game's pleasure. FFG made the Rebels, and they delight me. FFG made the Empire, and they delight me. FFG made Scum, and they delight me.
When it comes to X-Wing... I don't choose sides.
This. 100%, absolutely this. Lock the thread.
Them Dornish folks. So enlightened.
"Red 5 standing by" is all I need to hear and I'm ready to make the trench run.
This is a rebellion isn't it? I rebel.
I started off with mostly rebel ships, got into empire mostly for a few cards, but I think I only ever played an Imperial list like 3 times (I just HAD to see what all the phantom fuss was about). Then Scum came out and I am now a Rebel and S&V player exclusively (sold off my Imperial ships and everything). Haven't bought an Imperial ship since wave 5 (well, not counting the TIE/fo ships that came in the box when I bought Poe Dameron...I mean the TFA core set). Playing Empire just never grabbed me. While the game is spectacular, I probably wouldn't play it if it wasn't Star Wars, and when it comes to Star Wars (and most sci-fi/fantasy media) I gravitate to the good guys, the ones who I can relate to more easily. That (for me) means rebels. I also like mercenary factions, hence scum. Shadows of the Empire and Dark Forces are my favorite non-moving picture parts of Star Wars, and lo and behold, in Scum and Rebels I get Xizor, Guri, Dash, Leebo, Kyle and Jan. That's all I need, really.
It helps that Dash is really, REALLY good :-)

You can get away with that.... for now.
At least until cats develop opposable thumbs, anyway.
God hates cats and cat enablers.
I was all in imperial and only imperial until very recently (I always liked Dengar a lot, he seemed poor and nomadic and reminded me of me as a kid-we moved around a lot) so I started scum (along with most wanted and my fire spray) and found them too much fun to play. I've not touched Empire since, and have picked up my second favorite bounty hunter(s) the IGs to play with next. Beware that path... It's hard to turn back.
Edited by SomnicideIt's hilarious to me the amount of people who are starting to "dabble" in Scum now that they have the U-boat and some amazing crew.

Clearly someone needed to do this

i only have imperials right now but i intend to buy rebels too. This game isnt quite as easy to just pick up like Armada is but i still consider both to basically be advanced board games. Both of the games rules are very simple and can be explained quick, one of my friends never even opened his rulebook because we explained it so well the first time and only had to remind him on 1 or 2 minor things.
i dont intend to get everything since thats kinda pricy but i fully intend to buy rebels soon-ish so if anyone wants to try the game out its not imperial vs imperial .. which is kinda dull.
I started with Imperials but the moment Scum came out I was sold. I've been a hardcore Scum player since Most Wanted and the wave 8 goodness has just confirmed I made the right choice!
I'm happy to fly the other factions but Scum is close to my heart in the Star Wars lore and I love the dirty tricks element of their playstyle.

Funny, I found Armada harder to learn and far less enjoyable. Glad you like it though.

Well I've only been playing since December... I just happened to sell a different miniature game hobby which ffg has a card game license for which let me buy in a full faction, and I chose Imperial ;-)
