Cloth soak value - does it stack?

By guest414878, in WFRP Rules Questions

This may be another silly question, but here goes nothing.

I notcied a line for Cloth under the armor section. Is this in fact the default set of clothes that you receive during the weath portion of character creation? And if so, would it stack with armor? I'm hoping that people aren't running around naked under their armor....that would be kind of creepy preocupado.gif . Obviously there will be some exceptions and I am not trying to encompass EVERY character/NPC possibility.

This was a question brought up by one of my players, and I kinda think it's a good one. I mean, just because you're wearing a mail shirt doesn't mean thats all you're wearing, right? And cloth does have a soak of 1....

Troll slayers are excluded from this question gran_risa.gif .

While most likely people aren't naked under their armor, the benefits of soak from multiple armors do not stack. The only soaks that stack are armor+shield.

So, feel free to let players wear cloth under their platemail, but the only advantage it provides is when they get out of their platemail.

I would agree that plate and durable clothing does not stack, but would robes and clothing stack?

No. According to the rules, the only two pieces of armor that stack are armor and shield.
