Dengar/Moralo List Advice

By Gingernatar, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I will be in a tournament Saturday, and I was wondering if anyone had any advice for my list:

Dengar- 50 Veteran Instincts K4 Security Droid Unhinged Astromech Punishing One

Moralo Eval- 50 Heavy Laser Cannon Boba Fett Gonk K4 Security Droid Experimental Interface

Dengar is missing Engine Upgrade + PTL.

But to get that you would need to drop Gong, the interface and Boba.

This is a list that you I've been trying in my local league:

JumpMaster 5000: · Dengar (33)

· Lone Wolf (2)

Recon Specialist (3)

· Punishing One (12)

· R5-P8 (3)

YV-666: · Moralo Eval (34)

Ion Cannon (3)

· Bossk (2)

· Zuckuss (1)

Gunner (5)

-- TOTAL ------- 98/100p. --

Between rec spec and lone wolf Dengar is surprisingly tanky and can modify both shots if he gets to double tap. R5-P9 and the double tap is a nightmare for most aces.

Moralo shoots with his ion cannon first and most ships will do everything they can to avoid that ion token, then you can hit them with the gunner primary using Bossk's target lock and focus. You basically use Zuckuss on every shot and never worry about removing the stress.

It's a bit of an anti ace list but it gets the job done.

HLC and Boba on the same ship without mods is highly counter-productive. With Mangler, on the other hand...

Kong's list sounds pretty solid, though. Depending on the match-up, Ion C might be completely ignored but the reasoning is sound.

HLC with Boba and Greedo is not.

Not worth the hassle and not listed on his squad (Greedo, I mean).

With the point you spend on Greedo, opening yourself up to 6 hit points turning into crits, you can fit either 4-LOM or Zuckuss, fantastic crew choices on any YV that bring reliability to its attacks.

What obstacles do you use, and how do you set up initially?

The smallest rocks possible set up in a loose cloud. Both the ships need space to maneuver especially Moralo, his big sweeping 3 hards are the only way to keep him relevant when he gets stressed.

I set them up on opposite sides of the map and let my opponent choose their target, then use the other to hit them hard from the flank with impunity.
