Omega 'Lockdown' Leader vs. Evade Tokens

By TheRealStarkiller, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Does the use of evade tokens count as modification to the defenders result, which in this case the defender cannot.

When evade tokens count as naturally rolled evades, this would be no modification to the result...

Can the locked down defender use his or her evade tokens against Omegas attacks?

No, evade tokens add an evade result to your roll, and this counts as a modification.

"MODIFYING DICE

Players can modify dice by spending focus, evade, and target lock tokens and by resolving card abilities. Dice can be modified in the following ways:

• Add: To add a die result, place an unused die displaying the result next to the rolled dice. A die added in this way is treated as a normal die for all purposes and can be modified and canceled.

• Change: To change a die result, rotate the die so that its faceup side displays the new result.

• Reroll: To reroll a die result, pick up the die and roll it again.

• Dice can be modified by multiple effects, but a die cannot be rerolled more than once."

Ok, thanks for clarification.

I just had a discussion in a game, where my Omega Leader met Super Psyco Tycho with Rage, PTL, EI and Jan in a ship nearby ending up with 2 evade tokens,

arguing that evade tokens count as rolled dice results so he can use them regardless of Omega leaders ability.

So I let him go this way and took Tycho down with Wampa instead. It was a fun game, nevertheless.

That would have been an interesting argument. Evade tokens do count as 'results', but not "rolled results". Did he roll the tokens along with the dice?

You roll the defence dice and that's it. Any manipulation after that is some form of modification.
