Here's a fleet I am going to try in a tournament on Saturday:

Admiral Ackbar

Assault Frigate MKIIa

- Gunnery Team or Intel Officer

MC-30 Scout

- TRC

Nebulon-B Support

- Salvation

CR-90a

- TRC

- Jaina's Light

3x A-wings

3x YT-2400s

Fire Lanes

Superior Positions

Most Wanted

Which leaves with 15 points and a handful of questions:

  • Which ship should Ackbar ride on?
  • Gunnery Team or Intel Officer on the whale?

How to spend those last 15 points? Some options include:

  • Drop 2 squadrons and bring a CR-90b for the activation
  • Change Jaina's Light to Tantive + Raymaus for token handing out shenanigans
  • APTs and Ordnance Experts on the MC-30
  • A named squadron

I don't really care about bid as I plan to go second, but will do well as 1st player too.

I would go for APT+OE, but thats just me. I like gettin up close and brawlin

Agreed with the above on your extra points.

Also I think you should be careful with Fire lanes and Superior Positions. I only take these objectives with lists that are maximized to benefit from them.

I would put gunnery teams on the frigate. Ackbar is tough because he will be target #1. Do you want him on a ship your opponent really want to kill (AFMK2) or one that is easy to kill. It is a tough call.

I've been having pretty good success with carrying my general on Salvation recently. You want it hanging back out of the thick of the fight at all costs anyway, it's small and quick enough to escape once it needs to, girthy enough to withstand a sizable blast as long as you keep those **** side arcs safe... Not a bad choice.

Also, definitely OE + APT. Mostly because I like in-your-face fisticuffs.

I agree that the Scout MC-30 needs the most upgrading.

I will throw some upgrades on the MC-30 and give Ackbar a ride on Salvation.

Managed to win a small tournament with this fleet on Saturday. I was pleased with it overall, although I made several mistakes. Armada on Salvation worked fine, but I really misplayed Salvation overall and didn't get enough out of it.

The MC-30 accounted for kills on 4 ships in one game alone!

The gunnery team was also really useful. The MC-30 and AF MKII combined for a nice mini-conga line. I need to figure out how to get more out of the other 2 ships to make the fleet really hum.
