Another great article. You are spot on with the Chopper assessments. I was a bit disappointed with his role in the game . Like you. I thought FFG could have done a little better with 'Chop.

Thankso for reading. Glad you liked it

Thanks for posting! I enjoyed both this and the Lando article! Could definitely see this as a segment of the jodo cast show. Maybe even talking about the backgrounds for some of the pilots and ships.

Also, something i didn't realize until i read you Lando article: The artwork for the Falcon leaving the Death Star on Lando's pilot card shows the dish intact Instead of scrapped off. Wha huh?!!!!

I love your view that "if R2-D2 is a dog, then Chopper is a cat..."

That one comes straight from the horses mouth. The promotional "meet chopper" video used that exact pitch.

His theme and cards match just fine. Through out the show he would help hera in stressful situations but ended up doing some harm to the ship in some way, or just being neglect. His pilot ability works as well. He usually disabled the enemy ship, stress is a good way to do that without implementing a new rule.

I think the point of the crew card is that Chopper only actually IS ever helpful when the situation is dire. Otherwise, yeah, he's an ass. But when the situation is life-or-death...he'll help. A bit. Well...he improves some things, giving the crew a chance to survive, although makes other things worse.

I could have seen the card as-is with a double-stress instead of damage result for his actions, but since he specifically ALLOWS actions while stressed, that would kind of make his ship just a gigantic Tycho, and that's boring.

I think damage works fine, he certainly has done no end of harm to things around him...heh.

(Chopper and Hera definitely our favorite characters on the show. Jedi are fine and all, but it's really the non-Jedi characters that are interesting. I hope we see more of that...)

Yup straight from Filoni himself. I'm not taking credit for that lol. Just helping illustrate the point for people who might be unfamiliar with Chopper. :)
