Today it has been confirmed by Rian Johnson that there will be no time gap between The Force Awakens and Episode VIII. We all figured as much but it is cool to hear official confirmation on it. This was all talked about during the Future Filmmakers panel at Star Wars Celebration Europe.

Because of this information a question has been brought up about the Crawl for EP8. Because of the discussion of Rogue One not having a crawl and because there will be almost no time jump that there might not be a crawl.
What is everyone's thoughts on there having to be a Crawl or the Possibility of not having a Crawl?
Anyone has any thoughts on what the Crawl could say?
My thoughts:
There will be a crawl and it will mostly likely be short covering the events of TFA and the state of the galaxy due to its events. What is the immediate response of the surviving parts of the Republic Leadership? The First Order's response to the Destruction of Starkiller Base? Probably ending with Rey's mission to bring Luke back.
My Justification for them having the crawl is the from the Discussion of Rogue One not having it. The Crawl is one of the Hallmarks of a Star Wars Movie, specifically the Episodes. So one of the way they talked about differentiating the "Anthology/Star Wars Story" Films is them not having a crawl. So that would make a crawl in EP8 almost a necessary part.
There will absolutely, positively be a crawl. I'm thinking a quick summary of TFA, plus something about what Hux, Phasma and Ren have been up to since Starkiller Base blew up and what the First Order and the Resistance are planning for their next moves.

I really want to know what Phasma will be doing. She seems like she'll be Finn's personal Nemesis (for obvious reasons) and I want to know more about her. Also wondering how Finn will be healed. Kylo Ren really did a number on him.
