Hi guys! I've been having a blast playing palpshuttle-wampa-colzet tricks, and had played about 15 games so far with this list:
Zeta Leader, wired, weapons guidance
Col. Jendon, Palpatine, AS, ST-321
Wampa
Lt. Colzet, TIE/x1, AC
I was only winning about half of my games, but most losses were due to my (still) bad piloting skills, as I tend to embrace asteroids and bump my own ships every now and then... So when wave 8 came I decided to stick with the main structure of the list (wampa/colzet/palp), but instead of ZL, I tried The Inquisitor. Oh man! What a change! I had to downgrade Jendon to OGP, and make a few other tweaks, but the new list was born:
The Inquisitor, PTL, Tie/v1, AT
Wampa
Lt. Colzet, Tie/x1, AC
OGP, Palpatine, E.Baffle, IonP.
So after playtesting the list and getting an amazing 7-0 winning record, I decided to go to a small Store Tournament. There were 11 players flying for the Vader kit.
Rd1 vs Chiraneau/Fel
Chiraneau had VI, vader crew, RC, EU, Gunner and Fel was the standard 35p build.
I decided to go all in for Chiraneau, to hurt him early, and try to avoid him using vader, but he started flying away from me while Soontir approached. I lost Wampa pretty quickly, as he got "Vadered" twice, and after doing nothing to Soontir for a few rounds, I switched targets and went all in on Chiraneau. I got him down to 3-4 hp, so I got half points on him, and he had a few stress tokens from crits flipped by Colzet. He almost flew away from the board edge. We were running out of time, and I was winning 31-30 (I had 1/2 points on chir and he had wampa and half the shuttle), but I got greedy. Instead of running away, I decided to go with the Inq and Colzet try to finish him off, but forgot Colzet was stressed and I didn't choose a green move so I sat there tokenless... Soontir did his magic movemments to turn around and Chiraneau also boosted in and I lost Colzet, and the game. The Inquisitor had one last chance of getting Chiraneau, but the shot was through a debris field and he evaded one of the 2 hits, so he lived with 1HP left.
Result: Lost
Rd2: Super Dash/Corran, VI, R2D2, FCS
I've practiced this match several times, so I felt confident. My opponent made a big mistake getting Corran in the furball, and he died pretty quickly. After that, Dash fought hard, but the game was mine. I didn't lose a ship, not even half the shuttle.
Result: Win
Rd3: Ghost, Kanan, RecSpec,TLT/Corran,PTL, FCS, R2D2
Never played vs the Ghost before, but I knew Corran could have a bad time with Wampa, and If I took him out early, the Ghost would die easily to all my ships. He advanced too aggressively with Corran to meet my Inquisitor, and we both fired at each other at R3, which I was ok with. He spent his focus for 3 hits, so I had to spend my focus for defense, but thanx to AT I still had the evade if he double-tapped, and I saved Palpatine, as Wampa was in R3. My inquisitor stripped all of Corran's shields with the re-roll from the TL and him rolling 2 blanks and a focus. Then Wampa handed him a damage card. Corran double-tapped my Inq, but thanx to AT and the evade token, I didn't suffer any damage. Next turn the ghost was still far away, and Corran moved well to get out of arc, while recovering a shield. So no shots this turn as he evaded my blocks. Turn 3 corran got another shield back, but Wampa k-turned behind him. The Inq and Colzet turned on the Ghost, and the Lambda tried to turn, but didn't have arc yet. Corran shot Colzet, and got him down to 2 hull as I completely blanked, but I saved Palp for Wampa, who dealt the 2nd damage card to Corran, killing him. My opponent didn't see it coming, as he'd never played vs wampa before, even though I clearly told him what he could do in the setup. After Corran was gone, the Inq got out of the Ghost's arc to use AT, and it was mop up time. I only lost half the points of the shuttle, and my opponent conceded.
Result: Win!
So I suffered my first loss with the last version of this list, but I ended up in the top 3 for the first time! 3rd place! The sad thing is they weren't using MOV for tie breakers so I was tied in a 2-1 with the 2nd player, which was the one who had beaten me in the 1st match. I had much better MOV, but that's how it goes... 1st and 2nd place players took the Vader card, and I was left with the Slave 1 medal, which I already had. Luckily, I found someone a few days later wanting to change Vader for the medal, so I finally got my Vader card!
Thanx for reading!
