My humble opinion on how to fix Scum ships in one wave

So we all know that StarViper, M3A and Kihraxz are... not ideal. StarVipers can't compete with Soontirs and Whispers as arc dodgers, M3A title is pretty bad and Talonbane suffers from Wedge syndrome. Wave 8 got us some nice upgrades to it (Cloaking Device on Talonbane anyone? https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/217716-devils-i-mean-talonbanes-advocate/)but it's still missing.

So my small thought on how you could include all fixes in one wave.

- Black Sun Aces box with StarViper and Kihraxz. High Skill pilot for StarViper, title for Kihraxz giving it Boost or Evade, or some extra upgrade slots. Same goes for SV, as the slots are simply ridiculous on that ship without Virago

- Star Jewel epic ship, with an extra M3A with new pilots and possibly a new title (still working on that one)

- Also my take on a Jabba crew card

- 10 points, 2 crew slots, Once per round you can change any of your opponents die result to any other result. The die cannot be modified or rerolled again. All Your ships gain an Illicit upgrade slot (or All Your ships gain an Illicit Upgrade Slot if they already didn't have one)

So here you have it. 2 boxes, 3 ships and a crew card that would become Scum's version of Palp Shuttle.

Thoughts?

PS: this is more of a take on how to build Wave 9 for Scum to get every ship back to play

It better have crit resistance if it's gonna cost as much as Palpy.

Way too powerful. Glitterstim every round? Maybe if it was limited to Range 1 friendlies.

Or maybe gain a stress or take a damage or some other penalty to avoid discarding the upgrade.

3 crew? So only the YV-666 could have it...hmm. Might be a way to see the opd Hound's Tooth on the table more.

I think not discarding them (period) might be a little too potent with some of these illicits, but something like an 'Extra Munitions' for illicits might be cool. "Cartel Connections" or something, turns some of the one-shots into two-shots, maybe?

Personally, I'd prefer something like a Most Wanted v2 pack that had all 3 of those ships in it: M3-A, StarViper, and Khiraxz.

I really love the idea of the Scyk but it is pretty much worthless. 1 fewer point than a TIE/fo for a much worse dial and upgrade bar (that you have to pay 2 points to expand), fewer hit points, the same action bar, and only 2 uniques (one of which is "meh" and the other instantly a priority target). The Khiraxz is neat but fragile. The Starviper *can* be effective but, like the TIE Defenders, just isn't really worth its points.

Not particularly thematic for him.... how about..

Jabba: at the start of the game choose one of your opponents ships, when attacking that ship all friendly ships may reroll any number of dice.

cause bounties.

Action - lean left - BR left with 3 straight or 2 bank, ignore obstacles

Action - lean right - BR right with 3 straight or 2 bank, ignore obstacles

Action - bounty - place bounty token on ship R1-3

Token gives mini focus for everyone and rerolls against uniques(or high ps, idk). Lasts until end of end phase

Mostly joking but if priced well would be cool. Another effect could be juke/crackshot esque but that could be absurd as well

Jabba: when dealing face up damage, steal an upgrade and add it you your ship. Probably have to then discard jabba. And probably 2 crew slots, which right now is still only the YV.

I like the black sun aces idea...The Kihraxz comes in many different types so maybe the model of the ship could be different? Not just a different paint scheme.

Bounty sounds like a cool idea.

We need a "Least Wanted" expansion with three Scyks in it.

I really would like to see the title become non-unique, but I guess that is just me. (not to speak of the issue that the pilots are ... situationell).

Its not just you. The upgrades the title gives should have been standard on the ship and it was really dumb of them to do it like they did.

Not saying that there isn't some stuff they screwed up with it, but the ship itself is solid. The problem is that you can't run 4 with AT in one list, which sinks it.

Which means you still not not fit 4 with Autothrusters. I have no practicle experience with the ship, but would a "Starviper Prototype, -2 pts, Illict Slot, Systemupgrade" really make the ship too good? And if the Sytemupgrade is too good, maybe a second mod slot instead?

I think I'd rather see the Starviper and the Scyk in the Aces pack and the Khiraxz with a huge ship. The Scyk is the ship in the game that needs the most help and the Starviper has the most potential. An Aces pack with the two of these ships could make the Scyk worth putting on the table and allow the Starviper to be the anchor of a squad that it was meant to be.

The Khiraxz is almost at a good place. It doesn't need much help. It's a couple of good pilots and the right illicit upgrade away from being solid.

Scum is actually doing well post wave 7 considering all things. They have been consistently getting a new build per wave since their inception. The rebels still have the most variety with their meta builds but their builds all work rather the same and the builds can't be changed that much. The imperials have only one build and that is Palp Aces build but they have some variety in the Ace ship selection although the core of the list remains unchanged. Scum have 3 top lists, brobots, thug life, and now U-boats, sure 3 is not a big number but each of those list work

Rebels have the most variety of lists.

Imperials have the most micro-variety

Scum are the most diversified.

I do like an illict slot on the Viper, but IMO, the systems slot is what makes the Viper really shine. And by the way, I Always use at least one Viper in any list I run my Scum in. As a small base, it is the best fighter the scum have.(with the proper upgrades that is).
