I have a really curious question about the XX-23 Tracers. I feel a simple picture will fully explain the situation here:

Vader is at range 3 of Dengar. Both TIE Bombers are at range 2 of Vader. The question is: If Vader hits with the tracers on Dengar, could the bombers adquire a Target Lock on Dengar?

Nope. To acquire a target lock, the target needs to be at Range 1-3 from the locking ship. Similarly, you cannot use K4 droid or Dutch Vander or other similar card abilities to acquire lock beyond Range 3.

Edit: Note, that effects that assign blue target lock token to a ship (Colonel Jendon, Manaroo) do not count as acquiring TL, so they work even if the locked ship is out of Range.

Not unless they have Long Range Scanners.

'Acquire a TL' is always limited to the normal range limits for the TL action.

I had this understanding of it at first, as well, but it appears that it is incorrect. Those Bombers at the rear are Range 4-5 of the target, and the Range 1-3 rule still applies, as others have said above.

I was sad about it, too.
