Bring back sea of blood. (The 1st edition expansion that had boats).
Sea is cool. I'd like some icy landscapes with yetis in their caves and barbarians in their tundras.
Snow on one side and icy caverns on the other side.
Desert and pyramids is another option. Jungle and temples another.
Each of those could provide a brand new combination of monsters, and even heroes.

Not exactly "bring back" but more something in the idea, but with monster, heroes, class, etc ...
A pirate class for warriors or scout with guns and anchor
Rugal, are you possibly into the Rum & Bones 2 KS campaign? That would explain that urge for sea monsters and pirates fighting over ships

Descent 2ed deserve the sea of blood expansion *o* And rules for home campaign.
In all honesty I didn't car for The Sea of Blood expansion for the first edition. I'd much rather see a more traditional dungeon/crypt expansion.
SoB had lots of good content but encouraged the tactic of sailing away as fast as possible, which made for a boring campaign.
A Sea expansion would be cool : new travel cards for sea, boarding boats mechanics, sirens, and merfolks would be really cool adition
But I also want an Ice expansion
and, on top of that, I still want ... WEREWOLVES
I would take and ice expansion but I think the sea one was already tried in the first edition and met with failure.
it was a failure because of it was the last of expansion, with not a single miniature in it, and tried to put a game into campaign mode but wasn't think and created at start for this purpose.
Now that they know what they mustn't do, it will be a different story, indeed
I want a desertic landscape above everything else. Giant scorpions, mummies, snakes...and of course, ANUBIS! Would you make me one, FFG? Yes, my precious, they will help us.
While a Sea based adventure might sound good to some, it has been my experience that it is hard to get my friends to do it. This has happened many times in RPGs. So unless I received solemn oaths from my friends to play, I would pass on a Sea Based expansion.
As long as I got werewolves, everything else doesn't really matters
How about a werewolf 'condition' for player characters. Allowing for the Overlord to really mess with the players minds.
It's been done in the kickstarters for the others and folklore, so maybe it'll catch on in descent.
I was thinking of something like that already
here is my idea
Werewolf - dark and civilized traits
3 minion and 1 master
act 1 -
minion - speed 5, health 3, blue + yellow, defense grey - surge Pierce 2
Master - speed 5, health 8, blue + red, defense black - Bite -> when a hero suffers 1 damage or more from that monster, put a werewolf token on that hero sheet. When a hero with a werewolf token on it is knocked-out, put a minion werewolf on that hero's splace.

It doesn't make much sense to spawn a werewolf whenever the knocked out, when he wakes up there will he 2 of him.
Maybe a werewolf hero who comes with two miniatures, or a new taint that transforms the hero when it is activated.
the sent of the flesh bring back more of the werewolf members.
It would have been fun to control a hero, but it would unbalance to much the game
I do hope that we get an updated Nanok of the Blade! From what I've read he was way overpowered but a great hero to have in play!
