Hero and Monster collection - are we at the end?

Well, as the app is just around the corner I think they have "all excuses" they need to invest some time into thinking some monsters up.
Some of the "classic fantasy monsters" are still not in the game:
Werewolfs, Skeletal Dragons, different kinds of plant-like monsters, flying body parts like eyeballs (cough... Beholder...), animals like giant Snakes (not the Medusa) and everything else you could think of.
If going by classics then what gives with no Orc Monster group? We have plenty of Orc Heroes but no Orcs under the employ of the Overlord, what gives?

That's right... Also: no evil axe-wielding dwarfs who want to destroy the heros till now.

Werewolves or a shapeshifter will be nice for a hero or class. Some similarities giant snakes = new nagas / skeletal dragons = crypt dragons.
There are many monsters in runebound universe that they can bring.
Personally, I think the next step for them is to make an all heroes pack to finish the remaining heroes from first edition. Despite the fact that I have the conversion kit and all first edition heroes, I would still buy such a set to have updated stats and new models. For those that do not have access to the first edition models this would be a great buy.
There was a grand total of 48 first edition heroes, including all promo figures. With all the H&M packs, that is only 36 heroes.
Would FFG make a pack of heroes...either 1 pack of 12 or 2 packs of 6? My hope is yes.
Heroes? cool! Monsters? Also cool! Shop items? Great!
But what brings gameplay?....Classes!
Classes offer so much more than a hero does! Oh cool, a hero ability and a heroic feat. A class offers 9 skills!
I really don't get the focus on all these Hero and Monster collections where the classes are the most interesting part of the hero (and OL) character.
There are still tons of cool concepts to explore which could never be achieved by offering more heroes. Some examples;
Warrior: The swordsman who can only equip his starting weapon, but buffs his starting weapon with his skills. Or a class that has skills that work with a 1h weapon & a shield, or a 2H weapon. This allows for versatility through the campaign where the warrior might need to shift between a tank or damage dealing role.
Scout: The druid. A scout who can use plant/vine familiars to aid him in battle.
Mage: the bloodmage who uses his health to cast spells.Or mana, which is a resource that has to be gathered by the starting skills and can be spent by skills later on.
Healer: the guardian who can cast an arcane wall that increases the range that needs to be rolled if the attack passes through the walls. Possible upgrades are that ranged attacks are nullified or that the arcane wall can block movement.
These are by none means a thorough idea that has been fully thought through. But I can still think of these while I can not think of new heroes. There are so many, what has not been done before?
Edit: This opinion is heavily influenced by the idea that character progress is the key of RPG, not the character starting position. End of rant:)

I would love to buy something like this. Either a 12 pack or two 6 packs. Would be a nice addition.
Will H&M boxes comes up ? Only if thoses are selling well it will is the answer.
One thing for sure : there is 12 heroes who still waits in the shadow to be remade.
But for sure, heroes' classes are way more usefull now than heroes, so even if the OL still needs some monsters (I lack my werewolves !), a box with plenty of classes is a first pick for myself.
and in classes, the game lack of :
- a shapeshifter druid for Healers
- a battlemage for Mages
- a beastamer for Scouts
- a paladin for Warriors
and more
With all the comotion about that app, I bet my coins now that we'll see many things coming.
If they are planning to release all heroes from D1, then, there should be 3 more boxes after Shards of Everdark and 9 full new monsters, 3 in each pack
But I would be surprised to see something different, like a hero and classes box, for example.

By nine full new monsters you mean truly new, not recycled from first edition, right?
fully new monsters, like Crow Hags and Dark Minotaurs already are, not recycled from first edition.

There are no 1st edition monsters left to recycle
The question is what could be new monsters to create ?
Personnaly, I want to see :
- werewolf
- corrupted treant
- cocatrice
- fire dragon
- goblins on wargs
- sasquatch (since there is only 3 ice monsters at all and need more)
I would also want to see Uthuk Ylan monster, but maybe in a small box like Mists of bilehall

My guess is that we do not see anything new this year ( probably chains that rust will bring some different monsters and that´s it. Hope for some new classes).
2015 lineup - released three HM packs (Guardians of Deephall, Visions of Dawn and Bonds of the Wild), Dark Elements coop and Heirs of Blood campaign.
2016 lineup - three HM packs (Treaty of Champion, Stewards of the Secret and Shards of Everdard), Mists of Bilehall campaign (with three lieutenant packs), Road to Legend + Kindread Fire coop ( possibly they release one more campaign for the app) and Chains that Rust.
- sasquatch (since there is only 3 ice monsters at all and need more)
This.
If they keep with the normal H&M Packs (4 heroes/3 Monsters), I also hope they add more Water/Ice Monsters, we lack on those choices.

But yeah, I think you are probably right.
At least what I would like to see (at least in 2017) is either a Water campaign (similar to sea of blood), and an Ice campaign too. That would be nice hahaha
Tsss ...
So, waiting, again and again ... I wish they announced things later sometimes, only a month before it's avalaible.

I predict some of these monsters in Chains that Rust https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2015/10/1/the-invasion-begins-1/
Edited by kraistoWe just got the skeleton archers with Treaty of Champions but I think we still need skeleton warriors with swords. To go along with that I'd personally still really like to see some sort Crypt expansion like: Crypt of Shaurath (for all you Catacombs fans out there) or like Crypt King (for all you Baldur's Gate fans out there) - filled with skeleton archers, warriors, and the new Lieutenant Ardus Ix'Erebus is kind of the perfect, "boss" for the end fight.
I'm still thinking some sort of Tombs of Horror type of expansion would be amazing.
Edited by UmarSlobberknockerSkeletal Pirates!!!!! I like the Sea expansion idea. Pirates, Skeletal pirates. Merfolk of some form. Sirens maybe. Lots to work with..
I would love me some new monsters, although picking open groups has become a very long process for me now given the choice. Another thing is that I probably only use 25% of all monsters being released since the core set. I´ve tried them all, but the worse ones are not picked again as long as I can have access to the better ones. So while new releases are always welcome, the new designed monsters have to be quite powerful in order to justify consideration, when compared to what we already have access to. That's also why I liked the Crow Hag, because this monster filled a spot that no other monster could claim earlier. So yeah, releasing more "skeletons" or whatever is probably only going to increase that "fat" of cards I always set aside when picking my monsters. Sure, Ardus and undead and so on, but that's a niche situation compared to wide use of a good monster like the Kobold, the Ettin and the Shadow Dragon (to name a few).
I agree with the realization about Cold/Water monsters being under-representated. I too was expecting the difference in repartition to become more even, as new expansions/packs got released. On the other hand, every encounter in the game has at least access to one widely representated monster trait, so I´m fine with Cold/Water bringing fewer but more specialized monsters to the table.
I'm sure I'm in the minority here but I'm content with the number of monsters and heroes (and I don't even have them all). I would be more interested in campaign books that incorporate items from all the expansions. I would love to see campaigns which use all the map tiles, all the monsters, all the mechanics.

It's still being improved, but check out "The Legacy of Timmorran" (link in my signature). It's a custom campaign that uses everything up through Guardians of Deephall.

While I do want the rest of the stuff I don't own yet, that is just my OCD collector talking. I do like your idea though. I think it would be nice to use more of what I own more often.
