Goal of this post: Dispense a positive news whenever I can
I've been participating in the vassal league (latest newsletter:https://www.reddit.com/r/xwingonline/comments/4eyeik/league_newsletter_4152016/) since its beginning a few months ago. During the test season #0, round 2, I placed high enough to be in first place of my set of divisions, netting me a prize from their sponsors, Team Covenant. I was asked which set of tokens I wanted, so this is what happened:
-Asked for the Rebel tokens ($20 value, their older set) http://teamcovenant.com/store/shop/star-wars-x-wing/squad-tokens/alliance-token-set.html
-Received the Force Awakened TEMPLATES ($40 value) http://teamcovenant.com/store/shop/star-wars-x-wing/squad-templates/squad-templates-awakened-alliance.html
Since it was a prize, it felt weird to contact them for a mistake that was to my advantage, but I'm already a user of their old orange set of templates (rebels represent, yo), so I had no need for further templates. I contacted them and proposed an exchange for their newer asteroid set (equivalent difference value) if I sent them back the templates.
They told me:
-Keep the templates, ie give them out to a local newer player or whatever -we'll send the original tokens you were supposed to get
That's right there why Team Covenant has a great reputation. Say what you will concerning their item prices, but you can't ask for more in terms of customer service (even if I wasn't even a customer in the original transaction!). The least I could do was to report this publicly, but I went further and gave them my business for:
-full set of asteroid + debris tokens, which I wanted eventually anyway (was just a matter of time)http://teamcovenant.com/store/shop/star-wars-x-wing/asteroids-debris.html
