How many "unflown" ships in your fleet?

By DanDoulogos, in X-Wing

I try to make a point of flying not only every ship at least once, but every pilot at least once. I started on this last summer, and caught up just before the Raider came out. With the timing of Wave 8 coming out during Store Champs/Regionals season, I haven't quite caught up yet.

Yet to fly:

G1-A: Ruthless Freelancer

VCX: Lothal Rebel

Attack Shuttle: Hera, Ezra, Zeb

I'm a Rebel player, trying to avoid buying into the other 2 factions (money tight). Still fairly new, so - ones I haven't used yet

Rebel Transport, doubtful I'll ever use it

A wing - will use

HWK - only just bought it, will use

B wing - only recemtly bought it, will use

Falcon - not had cause/chance yet

Ghost - only recently bought

YT2400 - recently bought

I own roughly one of everything, but I've never flown my Gozanti or my Rebel Transport. In fact, I've never played an Epic game (I feel shame).

Never flown my K-Wing, E-Wing, Jumpmaster, T-70, Ghost (or attack shuttle), Tie Bomber, Tie Defender, Tie Punisher, Tie f/o, or G-1A Starfighter.

...well, that means I've flown like 66% of ships, right? ...except most of those I've flown once, maybe twice, and then decided that they weren't my fat Decimator, and then I went back to fat Decimating. I can't help myself. I may have a problem.

OK....I flew my Tie Punisher last night for the first time. I played Mission 1 where I was trying to destroy the Senator's shuttle. The Tie Punisher was the key to winning that mission 3 times in a row for me. Hardly anyone shot at it, even with Ion Turrets. Ion Torpedo won me at least one of those games. I think everyone underestimated it, but it was a powerhouse.

I wanted to get in a mission with the Misthunter, but didn't have time.

Play the campaign that comes with the Rebel Transport, that is an order! It seriously is the best set of missions you could want. Has the advantage of only needing a standart play area, too.

I agree that the missions in the epic ships are really fun.

I've yet to fly my Raider, Nebulon B frigate or Gozanti ... yet.

Their time will come.

I've also yet to even unpack any of the wave 8 stuff.

Opening those clamshells and distributing all the cards/tokens is hard work!

Cool; I was thinking of just that game. Hey, can you let me know what the details of your meta?

There are t enough hours in the day for most of us.

Add in Vassal. Add in not wanting to pack around everything and of course their are ships that get left behind from time to time.

I'm in a bit of a backward situation. In my area I'm the expert flyer so I get to fly the "worst ship" most often in face to face games. It's given me plenty of opportunities to see how bad the bottom tier ships are. The ships I own that have been used the least at probably my dual brobots, phantom, and K wings. Since my opponents are all newer to the game these ships would be murderous and create negative play experiences (in my hands) and are a titch too complicated for most of them to fly. A few are figuring out big base ships and interceptors but most still like bwings, xwings, and tie fighters (and one kid just loves flying z-95s).

Ship that have never seen the table?

Well, the very few Rebel ships I bought for their upgrades have at least been flown by someone, if not me. Gotta have something to teach new players with. And I've used every ship I own that is Imperial. And the two Scum ships I bought for upgrades were given to a Scum player, so they're getting used as well. So I guess I've used every part of the Buffalo in some fashion or another.

My buddy is trying to collect all the X-Wing "Pokemons". A couple weeks ago when he got his Wave 8 stuff, he said he would play, but only if we played with only ships we had never used from his collection.

I had to use the... shudder... TIE Punisher.

Redline is a fun ship to run. Use this build and don't fly it into the teeth of the enemy.

Redline with Fire Control System, Extra Munitions, Plasma Torps, Cluster Missiles , and Guidance Chips for 38 Points

That's exactly my build, except Proton over Plasma. It's 39 pts, I pair it with Whisper and Zeta Leader with Wingman, keeps winning vs. A-list squads.

Redline is the supreme ordnance carrier. He's to ordnance what Soontir Fel is to arc dodging.

I have yet to fly my starviper, as I have only recently added the scum faction to my collection, and my poor TIE punisher... Wave 7 Was not short enough. Hopefully that will change though.

I am only a few ships shy of a complete set.

In a year+ of play everything I have has been flown at least once. The ships that see the least use are the Imperials. I think the Rebels and Scum are cooler looking and easier to fly with my style of play. That said the last game I played was with the Imps and I definitely let the hate flow through me. The darkside is very seductive.
