A Question About Cause & Effect and Leader Grouping...

By Nominrath, in Star Wars: Rebellion

If a Rebel player resolves a 'Daring Rescue' mission before an Imperial player can resolve a 'Interrogation Droid' mission (i.e. 'Daring Resuce' removes the potential target of 'Interrogation Droid'), what happens to the leaders assigned to 'Interrogation Droid'?

Also, do ALL leaders in a given system have the potential to add to a mission (if they have the appropriate skill)? Even those that were on a different mission in the same system previously? For example, if Han Solo attempted a mission in Corellia and then Luke Skywalkwe attempted another, different mission in Corellia, could Han Solo participate in Luke Skywalker's mission?

Another example, if an Imperial mission attempts to capture Leia Organa (after she attempted a mission) in Mon Calamari and the Rebel player used Chewbacca from his pool to oppose the mission, would both Leia and Chewbacca contribute to the opposition of the mission? Or just Chewbacca?

Thanks!

The leader cannot do the Interrogation Droid mission since there are no captured leaders to target.

Yes, all leaders in a system (unless captured) contribute all their matching skill icons to a mission attempt or opposition up to a maximum of 10 dice being rolled per side. In your example, yes, both Han and Luke would contribute dice as long as they both had matching skill icons.

Both would oppose it.

Continuing your query about the poor Leader about to perform an Interigstion Mission, or any other Mission you can no longer perform. You don't have to reveal the Mission at all, whether because you're afraid that Luke is about to get Captured and Turned, or because Boba Fett doesn't have a Leader he can Capture, or like me in my first game you realize Luke doesn't have the correct Skills for that Mission you swapped him and Leah for. You just don't actually reveal the Mission, the Leader returns to your pool during the 3rd phase, and the Mission card returns to your hand to be played in another turn.

This means, you can even bluff a Mission, hoping to get the enemy to try and react to a Mission and Leader assignment, while not actually planning on revealing the Mission at all, if you don't mind wasting a Leader for a turn.

Bluffing a mission Is interesting, though that's pretty expensive considering the limited number of leaders/actions per round.

It's not something to try all the time, but it's a way as Rebels to possibly force the Imperial into retaining an extra Leader in the pool to counter a potential Mission, or to hopefully bluff your opponent into saving Boba Fett's capture mission for Luke instead of Leah and her actual Mission. But again, I'm not recommending it every round. It might be better if Han helped recruit an extra Leader in Lando or Chewie, and you now have that advantage in the number of Leaders.
