I found this app last week through an X-wing video I saw on YouTube. I've been using it ever since to try out some new squads since the Imperial Vets dropped against possible squads I may face at Gen Con in a few weeks.
The AI does fly itself into a lot of corners resulting in flying off the board. But overall, I like it. The AI needs to take a little more risks when moving, to make it a little more challenging.
So, about the Squadron Benchmark site....
I use it to practice. I set up simple ships and practice dodging and chasing.
I use and talk about benchmark quite alot. I mostly use it to find good openings, because that is one part of the game where i struggle the most. I feel it has improved my results quite a bit.
It's great for practicing formation flying, deployment, learning the timing of various synergies etc...
...and also a hell of a lot of fun!
Nothing replaces a real person but it's a fun tool to play with.
Still insist evades happen way more than they should.
i wish it would give you the option to give initiative when you have a bid
I hate to resurrect this thread from the dead, but is the creator of this site looking to update for 2.0?
