What is your pick for best and worst of X-wing?

By Cubanboy, in X-Wing

Best ship would be either the X-Wing or the A-Wing. As far as what sells the most I would be surprised if it wasn't TIE Fighters. Most imperial players I've met have at least 8 of them, with the TIE/fo combined it's more like 12-16.

AKA the Force Awakens "Damage Deck Tax"

edit: OK, that's a bit harsh, but the fact is I have two TIE/fo's in my collection which have never been used...

Not an Omega leader fan then?

Favorite/Best: X-Wing

Disliked/Worst: Kiraxzxzxxzx It's just a space fighter. Nothing about it makes me think Star Wars.

The best part of X-Wing? The game is pure fun, the ships are awesome, the rules are easy to get and hard to master, the players are great and most people just want to have a good time, even at tournaments.

The worst part of X-Wing? The online community that is just soo negative. Honestly, reading this forum is annoying most of the time.

... to be fair, your question leaves room for interpretation ;)

They actually said that the Falcon is one of their best selling ships and still is. As someone mentioned to me once, no doubt a lot of people buy them as display pieces.

I'm 99% sure that the week after wave 6 came out, everyone figured out that buying 6 M3A's might not have been the best idea...

:( I bought them for the Mangler and Flechette Cannon cards.

Anyone want any ships?

Busted! Well, I guess I should fess up. I bought an extra one from Miniature Market a week or so ago when it was on sale.

I wanted a display piece. How did you know :o ?

Like the old saying goes, if you can't be part of the solution, be part of the problem.

Wait, is that right?

The problem is they could be really really good with just a little tweaking. If the title had been 0 pts or neg points on the upgrade it could be a serious ship. I have run M3A Serissu Mangler Stealth squads to great effect but they are just too expensive to actually be a thing.

At the high turnover sales stores in downtown Toronto, there is a massive amount of Punishers...all at the older, lower price...still gathering dust.

Best? Epic and mission oriented play

Worst? 100 point arena

I wanted a display piece.

Well that's one thing about most FFG ships, any of them are nice enough looking and large enough to make display pieces. Plus at $15-30 they're reasonably priced for that.

Even the small ships would work for that, especially since they're all to scale. I know after I showed my brother my ships he wanted to get a Falcon just to put on a shelf.

Functionally or aesthetically? In terms of coolness I'd have to say it's a toss-up between the phantom and the shuttle coming up tops (with the star viper running third) and the flying shipping container (-666) and the k-wing tied as taking a few too many whacks from the ugly stick. The -666 doesn't fly.... it's just so ugly that the ground repels it.

The YV is certainly ugly, but I love it! Has a really weathered and used sort of a feel to it.

You still have not paid your Omega leader tax? Or do you mean that you use your third TIE/fo at least? :D
