Music/sounds in game

By gndmgp01, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

I recently discovered Syrinscape and it seems pretty useful (haven't had a chance to use it in a session yet). It just doesn't seem 'Star Wars' enough though. What are some apps/programs you use to have the Star Wars sounds in your games?

have you tried Star Wars' soundboard ?

Personally I use Syrinscape in mine and it works fine, has good sounds for explosions, cantina's, markets, blasters, lightsabers, etc. The only place it kinda falls flat on is music that fits in the star wars world as it's music is more generic scifi and action but that's kind of to be expected since they can't be using licensed music.

Luckily we're expecting the custom sound editor for it to be out soon which should allow for individuals to use that music if they won it in their soundsets. Works great so far and helps keep players drawn into what's going on in the game.

Isn't Syniscape a monthly charge service?

Whatever I can get/find on Soundcloud for Roll20, since I mostly play online.

I wish they had soundboards, if only for me to produce Hutt noises when they talk to a Hutt.

There's one thing describing that the Hutt had tricked you and you had fallen right into his trap, but it's a whole nother level to just play an echoing Jabba laugh when they think they are safe.

I'll have to play around with it to see if it works the way I'm thinking in my head. I mentioned Syrinscape because it provides an ambient background noise for a lot of varied settings, but I'm not sure if the Star Wars official soundboard has that; I'd have to play around with it.

Dark Bunny Lord: I'm mostly interested in the Star Wars music and sounds as well, as I think it will just add that extra touch of authenticity to the player's experience.

So for sound effects I could use the sound board, has anyone had any success with using a program for music, a separate sfx program, and visuals? I typically have a powerpoint with some images displayed but am not familiar if music can be embedded into a ppt slide (I can google that).

I'd love to get starwars music in there (and some tie screams would be great) but first I need to figure out the custom sound set creator. I'm sure once it's out of beta we'll see some community Star Wars builds for sure just a matter of time so I'd keep an eye on it just in case.

Tabletop Audio is fantastic for music/ambience, and they somewhat recently added their SoundPad feature which is pretty neat. Nothing Star Wars specific, but a lot of the sci-fi stuff feels like "Stellar Battles" if you know what I mean.
