Or original plot... If There's a Death Star 4, they can just declare the crappy Superweapon of the week type EU back to canon status. (There was some amazing EU stuff, but a lot of crap.)
Geeze don't get me started. Kevin J Anderson managed to come up with a superweapon plot in every EU book he wrote. Remember when the Hutt's made a Death Star? Lol.

To be fair, they left the star part out of it.
It did get crazy for a while there with all the super weapons. I did love the x-wing books. It could have been the fact that they reminded me so much of the old computer games, and I loved them too.
I'm hoping for both new capital ships and some actual new fighters rather then just updates of OT designs. 19 years pass between the Clone Wars and the Galactic Civil War and with one exception the entire on screen OT fighter inventory is post Clone War designs. Now 30 years pass between the GCW and whatever the ST war will be called and all we have seen so far is updates of OT designs.
