Possible New EP VIII Rebel Ship Revealed! Kinda!

By Tsiegtiez, in X-Wing

A-wings with comms relay better dials and maybe even 3 attack... THE END IS NEAR!!!!

Well, it certainly seems that the original McQuarrie artwork is the inspiration for the updated designs. We saw it with the T-70, and it now looks like they're doing it again with the A-Wing. Which I'm totally ok with!

So basically TFA era is like the Star Trek "MIrror" universe where evrything is the same but with inverted color schemes..... evil Spock would be pleased!

B-wing E/2 possible cannon in the future then? I second this!

I hope its an A-wing for the sake of the newer episodes (7-9) having something from the ROTJ era. A-wings and B-wings were new to the scene when ROTJ happened so I thought it strange they were not to be found in episode 7.

That's one of the reasons I think fans will like rogue squadron. I think that movie will have all of the ships we grew up loving.

People who think Rogue One is going to be about Rogue Squadron are probably going to be very disapppointed because that doesn't appear to be what the movie is about at all. All indications point to a heist movie/maybe "Dirty Dozen" type war movie. Nothing seems to point to large amounts of space combat in the film.

You can see an Xwing in the teaser and we are likely to see y-wings, and TIE fighters. If this movie doesn't have a space battle it will be the first one I believe. I suppose TFA doesn't have one because the two battle scenes both happen planet/star side.

I'd much rather get something new and creative so I actually have something new to play with instead of the same ship I've been playing with for 30 freaking years.

On some level, I'm happy to see most of the stuff in Force Awakens looking like the stuff I grew up with.

On the other hand, I want to see something new as well. The old stuff can stay old stuff, I don't need a nearly identical version being sold to me as new. Especially for this game. I wouldn't mind getting Sequel Trilogy variants, like we get repaints in the Aces/Veterans boxes, but I don't want half the ships in this game to just be stronger versions of the other half.

If Episode 8 had a green A-Wing, I'd be excited for the variant, but I'd still prefer it to be a variant over a whole new ship.

Sure, a little mix-and-match would be nice.

Instead, we are getting pretty much exclusively repainted old stuff so far.

To those naysayers, the photo caption on the Beeb actually states "Prince Harry sat in an A-Wing".

Nice to see it back in service. Who thinks the Assault Gunboat should be in one of the new films? ;)

I don't! ;)

I hope to never see that ship again! ;)

Uninspired piece of trash! ;)

Looks like Harry is making the lightsabre sounds...If a watery tart threw a sword at him, i would vote for him.

The movie is about the team that got the plans for the Death Star before the Battle Of Yavin, I am sure someone will mention Bothans and a million nerd will rage at that Bothans were Death Star II, or is it 1.5 as it wasn't completed?

I have heard they were doing a Han and Boba Origin story in another movie, this would be cool if it was true. Boba has been my favourite character since 1980 with Empire Strikes Back, no idea why, just knew he was cool, said little and got **** done.

Is that prince Harry? He served in Afghanistan so I guess he qualifies. Is he a pilot or crew? What's his ability?

Well, he flew Apache Attack Helicopters there so my guess would be a pilot.

I never mentioned rogue squadron or hinted towards it.

Would be great to see it make an official appearance, if only to break up the monotony sorry, monopoly of TIE variants.

...actually, you know what, I'm not sorry, i think I was right the first time round.

What I'm also hoping for is that FFG is given a little more info regarding the film, so as to allow them to create pilot cards that go beyond "Blue Ace" and "Omega Leader". Perhaps we'll actually see pilot cards for some of the pilots we saw in TFA at some point too.

I totally agree Dr, the T 70 pilots feel like they are named, "That guy", and, "That other guy". Possibly even, "Some Chick pilot". They made uniques sound generic, there are some named pilots in TFA, I wonder if FFG had access to them before wave 8 went into production?

To be fair, the movies don't really give much to go on. Most of the pilots we have are either from the EU or were fleshed out there. I would think any new books/comics coming from Disney would be the best place to look for new pilot material.

We're more likely to see a scum epic ship.

It'd be coolio to see the A-Wing get it's due in the new movie. And, it'd also be coolio to have a new A-Wing come out in X-Wing with 3 attack.
