A crit against a squadron is not a hit. But can you activate a crit effect against an elite squadron?

Can you roll a blue crit against a named squadron with a ship equipped with NK-7's and force them to discard a defense token. I didn't see where the card is limited to attacking ships.

From "Critical Effects", pg 4 of the rules reference: Squadrons cannot resolve or suffer critical effects unless otherwise specified . (Emphasis mine)

So unless something specifically says otherwise (think Cluster Bombs), crit faces don't count, so you can't resolve a critical effect.
