New First Order ship???

By xjettx, in X-Wing

I was reading through Marvel's Poe Dameron #1 that came out the other day and noticed a NEW First Order craft on the last page. It looks like it can dock a handful of ships, as well as acting as some sort of gunship due to the turrets at each corner. Seems like it could be a pretty fun addition to X-Wing, especially because TFA offered so much less (as far as vehicles go) than the rest of the movies. What do you guys think? image_zps5csl0jhl.jpeg

I'll be honest, I might like it as a terrain piece, but that thing doesn't look suitable for any sort of combat at all... Perhaps it could provide support during an assault on a ground target.

It's way too big.

That's what she said.

Seriously though, only a bit bigger than a gozer.

Those TIEs on top don't look very secure.

I can just see it banking, and them all sliding off...

But with out a ground combat game what's the point of what appears to be a landing support ship?

C'mon gang, use your space-imaginations a little! If those TIEs aren't tethered like in TFA then let's just assume they're held in place with Tractor Beams.

It could be a pretty neat Carrier mod though. You could practically give it Gozanti stats and a PWT a lá the CR-90, cost it out, and call it good.

All TFA era ships that aren't based on previous ships are all just big boxes. Sometimes with awkward wings or sometimes with some angles, but still boxes.

Has anyone else noticed this?

We need a new rebel epic before the empire.

Does anyone else feel like the scale of that bridge is WAY off? Based on the people on the deck, plus the TIEs, that bridge looks like half the size of a Victory's.

Scum needs an epic before either.

Says the guy who doesn't even scum.

I dunno, the bridge looks bigger than a troop transport, which means you've got plenty of crew seated comfortably with an aisle down the middle. Can't see why it would have to be much larger, that would just be a bigger target. Plus it provides a very narrow head-on target.

I actually pulled a JBR7 and bought a titanium series dropship from walmart. the scale really is spot on.

I think a lot of folks are over-estimating how many ships we can expect to add based on the new movies. OT, didn't necessarily overflow with ships either. Empire added the Tie Bomber and Slave 1 and that's it so far as I can remember.

I actually meant it looks too big :D

The entire bridge tower looks (scale wise) similar to that on a Gerald R. Ford Class (but only one deck), while the helicarrier itself is kind of tiny (comparatively).

We wouldn't even be getting the snowspeeder or cloud car.

Jedi added B-wings, A-wings and TIE interceptors. What people forget is that each of those ships has about 2.5 seconds of screen time

That's no ship, that's a small platform.

As well as a $30+ Kenner toy! The most important part!

I don't know about any of you people, but I am reaching my "too many ships" threshold with this game. Probably the wrong crowd.

Oh man and we haven't even gotten to the Hapan Battle Dragon or the Clawcraft. You'd better bail while you can!

You forget the Bespin patrol craft!

2 hull, 0 shield, 1 red, 2 green, no upgrade slots for 5 points!

I know the feeling. But for me too many cards and combinations.

Naw.... I'm good.

I'm not so much reaching the threshold on published ships. I *have* reached the threshold of people seeing a glimmer of a possibly different ship and trying to fit it into the game at all costs. :P.

Though theorycrafting in and of itself can be fun, so I'm not overly complaining.
