Post Wave 8 - Is TLT still viable?

With the changes in Wave 8; I was wondering if TLT still had a place. So, I was tinkering with the following idea with hybird of TLT and some Autoblaster Turret. Torkhil to drop the opponent PS to 0. Also, went with Hired Gun for higher PS than Contracted Scout. Added them with Plasma Torpedoes and Guidance Chips for extra offense.

Not sure if there are other post Wave 8 TLT ideas out there. Feel free to post them. Or if TLT kind of bit the dust with Wave 8 due to the alpha strike since most of the ships have a low agility and is susceptible to them.

TLT is still relevant. Lots of big low agi ships out there, so 2 consistent damage is always nice to have.

I just faced Torkhil + TLT + Dengar and it was the MVP of the match. It was doing major damage. Dengar effects both attacks.

If you're running Torkhil, you might as well go for Thugs.

You could try something like this if you want to do quad TLT:

I think TLT has taken a massive hit. If Jumpmasters are operating in your area then taking TLTs is a big risk.

straight TLT's might not like U-Boats but its not an autoloss.Miranda can still trouble them and stressgicing is pretty good counter to their focus/deadeye synergies esp if they r using Overclocked astromech which gives them a stress as well.

I think TLT still has its place, but no longer should a list be only TLT ships. Mixing them up is a good idea, having 1-2 TLTs with other options should be the new TLT norm.

Yes, tlt is still ridiculously strong. Just because the ships that carry it are weak to ordnance doesn't mean it doesn't still do its work. 2 reliable damage and stripping tokens from aces. (also invalidating most three hull ships that rely on agillity to survive, but that's my opinion.)

Another potential idea. Ships with at least PS4 to shoot before Contractor Scouts:

Palps aces still hits scouts hard

Tlt's hit palp aces hard.

Although none of the above is autowin each is very strong.

If you can arcdodge scouts (hired guns and greys) tlt is more consistant than a scouts primary at dealing damage.

Rebels can always add a stressbot and lockdown a scouts ability to fite torps
