Ion Torpedoes

By shaner, in X-Wing

Ok, so we were wondering about these little gems. We are wondering if we are reading the card correctly. So, they are attack value 4 and if you hit the defender, then the defender and all enemy ships in range one receive an Ion token. Now, does the defender also receive ALL damage rolled? With an Ion cannon or turret, only one dmg and one ion token are dealt no matter the dice roll.

Thanks for your help.

Do what the card says, not what it doesn't say.

Most Ion cards say cancel dice and deal certain damage. This does not, therefore you do not cancel the dice and you deal any damage they did.

As mentioned does it say anywhere to cancel die results? No. This means you still feel the full effect of the shot.

It's great for Epic.

it says each ship at range 1. I thought that means also your own ships

This is correct. Ion Torps will also ionize your own ships.

It does. Just like Assault Missiles, Proton Bomb, and Seismic Charge among other things that blow up and don't discriminate when handing out effects.

Convert one dice to a <kaboom> using Guidance Chips. This cannot be cancelled thanks to Ten Numb's ability. Target takes crit's damage and Ion Token; everything else takes an Ion Token.

Do I pass?

TN rolls all blanks. Guidance Chips kicks in and since a Bwing has primary attack value of 3, one die can be changed to a critical hit. So now you have 2 blanks and a crit. Now TN's ability kicks in and makes that crit un-evadeable. So the defender takes one crit, and everyone at range one of the defender gets an ion token. What does extra credit get me?

3 blanks and a crit. Ion Torps are 4 dice. Also the defender takes an Ion too.
