Kind of a hammer and anvil thing. Cause stress, punish stress. Lots of points left to load up on heavy hitters, shield projectors to help survivability of said heavy hitters. Thoughts?

Would have been very powerful in the early days of Epic. Raiders exist now though.

I'm an epic infant. Why isn't it good?

Didn't say it wasn't.

I'd also spend the 10 points to give them both Automated Protocols, so that they can actually reinforce/recover instead of always spending their actions on Jam and Slicer Tools.

You have roughly 1/3 of your fleet that has a combo that can inflict some stress and damage, but leave them without their reinforce actions. Ever seen a Decimator fall to concentrated fire? Picture the same thing, but 300 points of concentrated fire coming your way instead.

There is also the fact that 2 huges will probably get in the way of your escort and your opponent will deploy his huge (in the case of a Raider) or fleet after you deploy your transport to take full advantage of that.

Not bad. Epic ships don't take stress so the mechanic is useless against an opposing CR90 or Raider. Those two will slam the hell out of your GRs and hang the rest of the squadron near the Big ships waiting for your squadrons to approach. It is a lot of points wrapped up in ships that don't shoot. And when you take in to account the inefficiency of Huge ships (admittedly better since the gozanti but still a little lacking) I imagine you'll find it isn't as cool in practice. Fun, but your squadrons better perform at a level that makes your opponent break down and weep.

Thanks for the feedback. I am getting a 2nd Gozanti and GR-75 from someone leaving the game and thought I'd like to try it. I like the raider, but dislike how much of a point sink it usually ends up being.

Toryn Farr on the Bright Hope with automated protocols is amazing. Screwing Fel over is just priceless.

I've used GR75s in Epic quite a bit and they are a lot of fun. They can really hurt ships that rely on green dice for survival, and it makes approaching them a risky proposition since it can be hard to veer away when you're stressed and if you get too close, then you get squished like a bug on a windshield.

First instinct tells us that it's a rubbish idea squarely on the low firepower end of squad ideas, but try it. It's amazingly fun. You have many other other ships that will love to go to town if the entire attention is drawn towards your transport as a pseudo-biggs effect. I've run 2 transports twice, won each game and loved it.

The thing is while the jam action giving out stress and slicing can cause damage. Other Huge ships like the CR-90 and the Gozanti don't take stress. So the jam action won't do anything to them.

It is sort of like Armada, the dual GR-75/Gozanti with jam action and slicer tools can work okay against a pure starfigher list but they will just die if they go up against any huge ships. Also huge ships while better still not good against the likes of a TIE Interceptor Swarm or worse 4 IG-88 Aggressors.
