Rieekan Seafood build.... not sure what objectives to use

By Audio Weasel, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Ok, so here's a build I used pretty successfully this weekend, and also had great fun running. I'm just not sure if the objectives I'm using are the best ones for it. For example, I'm wondering if Superior Positions might be a better blue objective for this. I'd appreciate any insight.

Do not touch Superior Positions with a barge pole if you're using Rieekan! Your opponent can continue to throw damage on the rear end of your ships (and therefore score victory tokens) even after they've been destroyed! I found that one out the hard way  :(

Ah, that's an extremely good point. Any other thoughts?

I prefer Intel Sweep to Dangerous Territory, but that might just be me. Dangerous Territory is nice because you won't take damage, but the points are pretty terrible. Any list with Jaina's Light will likely take at least one or two tokens and not get harmed, and I've seen Mottied ISDs just shrug and blow through to get tokens as well. I second Rieekan being THE WORST for Superior Positions and Precision Strike due to his ability. Learned that the hard way.

Fire Lanes not Hyperspace Assault.

Remember you are second player in this case. What are you going to do? Drop a Torp frigate, Nym, Luke and Dutch in behind their ships and watch as they hit the gas and move out of range first activation?

Thanks all. @Caldias: I did choose Dangerous Territory specifically because of the lack of damage.

Ginkapo: I've done OK with dropping the torp frigate in. I usually don't drop any fighters with it. If I get a chance to play before the tourney I'm taking this build to, I'll try running Fire Lanes, and see if I want to swap. I can definitely see the appeal though..

See my "Activation Order" thread on the main forum for a more in-depth discussion of how to do this.

OP, as someone who does so regularly to great effect, I'd say definitely keep HA in there, but use it wisely (as I described above) instead of foolishly.

I also recommend dropping a squadron to your command value of 4, and using the points to put Admonition on one shrimp and Lando on the other. This will keep your MC30's alive MUCH longer. Lando specifically will allow you to hyperspace in nose-to-nose with an ISD, rip a double side arc into him, and still live to tell the tale.

Apart from that, though, love the fleet. Good luck with it!

No, that would be stupid. He would drop it between two advancing enemy ships to fork them both, double-arcing one (or both) if possible, while establishing a death zone on their path with the rest of the fleet so that even if they escape the objective ship, they're flying into certain death beyond it.

Hmmm...... taking the YT2400 out, and adding Lando and Admonition in leaves me 6 points........ just enough to put XI7 Turbolasers on something. I'm going to have to try to get some practice in this weekend with this. Thanks so much for the suggestion!
