This is WAR
not a small skirmish or some luxury training exercise. Men and Materiel are stretched to the absolute limit as the factions scramble to prepare for massive sector-wide battles. Great heroes like Major Rhymer, Howlrunner, Wedge Antilles and even scoundrels like Han Solo can't be everywhere at once, and admirals must make do with whatever ships and supplies they can beg from their HQs.
Massive ships like Home 1, the Avenger, Demolisher and Yavaris can only be in one sector under one admiral at a time, and planning around these restrictions may prove to be as much a key to victory as the efforts of the individual admirals and pilots.
TEAMS
There are 3 teams in this event, and each team will have 5 players of the same faction. All games will be Rebel vs Imperial, and every player will play one member of the three enemy teams.
FLEET BUILDING RULES
400 points per fleet, a grand total of 2,000 per team.
Each team may only use an unique card once; this includes Admirals, Titles, Crewmembers and Squadrons. The team Captain is in charge of ensuring this rule is observed. If two fleets from a team does enter the same unique card only one can use it, but both must pay for it.
Rebel and Imperial high command have granted you at least this one boon: the characters that FFG fully spoiled before the event can be used:

MATCHUP PROCESS
All games will be Rebel vs Imperial.
Two teams will be matched against each other. The team with the lower total points bid may decide if they want to offer a player for the other team to match against first or second. Each time a player is offered the other team must choose one of their unallocated players to match against them, and then reciprocate by offering a player for a match up until all games are allocated.
Example
:
Team A spent 1,999 points
Team B spent 2,000 points
Team A can decide to force the opponent to offer a list first, or can decide to offer their own list first. Forcing the opponent to offer a list first gives more control over the vital early matchup process, whereas choosing to offer their own list first cedes that control in order to be able to essentially pick the match up for the 2nd, 4th
and 5th
lists.
There is an advantage to both doing the first or second, and this approach was purposefully modelled on the way initiative bids work in Armada.
ROUNDS
Each round will be 2 weeks. The first 3 days will be for Captains to arrange matchups, and the following 10 days are for the players to complete their games. That gives a generous amount of time for organising games, and will include 2 weekends in each round - please try to fit the game in, or hire a bounty hunter (a substitute from the list) if necessary.
The first round will begin Monday 18 April, with all games due to be finished by Sunday the 1st May.
The final round ends at midnight Pacific time, Saturday the 4th of June. Please have all results in by this date.
WINNING THIS TOURNAMENT
All scores will be combined by faction to decide which side wins - Everbody's score counts towards their side's chances of victory.
There will also be a public award for the highest scoring teams from each faction:
[] Heroes of the Rebellion
[] Defenders of the Empire
Good luck!
