Looking for ideas to complete list

I've been running Oicunn lately and am loving him especially in this ace-heavy meta.

With the new sub aces now, my idea was to pair him with two other high-priority and/or good end-game wingmen like Omega Leader.

Oicunn [Vader, Adaptability] - 45 points

Omega Leader [Juke, Comm Relay] - 26 points

29 points remaining. What would you folks plug in? I was considering a Royal Guard Pilot [PTL, AT, Targeting Computer] for some reliable offense, blocking, and anti-turret/swarm.

I would kit out Oicunn more heavily and only take a single (more expensive) wingman for him, like Whisper.

Adaptability adds absolutely nothing to Oicunn. Being PS 3, 4 or 5 doesn't make that much of a difference. Take Daredevil instead, which will allow you to get better use out of his pilot ability. You might want to add Engine upgrade as well, which is always good on large ships, but also lets you avoid taking damage from Daredevil. And Dauntless, of course, which allows you to ram twice per turn.

I use Adaptability to bump Oicunn down to PS3 to block 3 Scouts and Black Cracks when I get initiative, otherwise I bump to PS5. It costs zero points, so there's no reason not to take it when running suicide Vader setup.

Not a fan of Daredevil and title. It works well for one turn, but it costs 5 points and leaves you double-stressed meaning you probably won't get use out of either upgrade for a while.

I've been mixing OL with cheap scary ships, my two favs so far:

OMG + Baffles is a solid ship, some cheap crew options like Kallus are under consideration

Gamma + HM + EM + Chips is resilent and hard to ignore

Both leaves few points to reallocate, imho a HU on OL is a good investment.

You could take a stripped down Inquisitor for 29 points. Title + PTL is 29, or do a 1 point EPT and add in Autothrusters.

I would also say inquisitor - AT. Or you could go Carnor with PTL. Or maybe Wampa + a Crack Black? Juno with ATC and adaptability? Stele with ATC and VI?

Good suggestions. I think I need my third ship to have autothrusters to help with 3 Scouts but also due to the TLTs still floating around. Inquisitor fits that bill nicely.

Upgrading Patrol Leader to Oicunn is one of the most no-brainer upgrades in X-wing IMO, but I guess I have to compromise if it means securing a decent third ship.

This interestingly counters Palp Aces pretty hard. Hopefully it has the durability to tank 3 Scouts as well.

You could take a stripped down Inquisitor for 29 points. Title + PTL is 29, or do a 1 point EPT and add in Autothrusters.

I also had this exact list in my brain. But you have two ace killers in there and you might want something with a bit more punch. How about swapping OL for Zeta Leader with Predator and Comm Relay. He does a lot of work for his points.

I like the above idea. Vader-Decimator should make most aces moot, and the Inquisitor isn't too shabby with his ability to ignore Autothrusters. Zeta Leader is pretty solid for the points. With Predator he can spike damage pretty hard. You could also think about Juke, Comm Relay, and Mk2 engines.

I had similar concerns that my list was too focused on countering aces; but OL deals fairly well against Scouts and I feel like triple/Palp Aces is very prevalent in my area.

Swarms will absolutely chew me apart though.

So...yeah, Oicunn without Daredevil, or a useful EPT or an engine to take advantage of his bumping...just downgrade that guy to a generic PS3 Decimator. A DeciVader is 43pts. Then add OL for 26pts and Inquis for 31pts. That's 100pts and a respectable list.

The Vader-Deci can dish pain into Aces, as can Omega Leader, and Inquisitor can be the super action efficient workhorse.

Also, you'll be fine against swarms. Omega Leader and Vader can take a Tie Fighter per turn off the board easy. The Decimator will blow up, but as long as you take half the TIE Fighters off the board while still retaining the Inquisitor, you can clean up the rest of the match with just that guy. He's got too many defenses for a few TIE Fighters to chew through, unless they somehow got OL without using any Crackshots.
