Regionals Data

By shmitty, in Star Wars: Armada

Great work, I will be reading this one often.

Great stuff! For the San Antonio regionals what data are you looking for to be full complete? Is it because I did not include the lists of those who dropped out after the third round?

Pretty much. There were 29 attendees, but only 25 lists. That's still really useful.

I will post those later tonight then brother!!

I hope Columbus reports there lists. It will be nice to see if they had some more rebel top 8 players. Kind of disappointing that the imperials are being better represented.

I updated the dropped out player's lists on the other San Antonio page, but have it here for convenience:

**** YOU NICK! :)

Ok, I am gunning for you on my home turf! Vengeance will be mine!

Or...dumb riekan will wreck me again..hehe...

Thanks for the extra info. I will get it incorporated shortly. I'm looking forward to having data from more tournaments to see what patterns may start to emerge.

I'm also going to pull out some other data like:

  • average ships per fleet
  • average squadrons per fleet
  • % of Imperial fleets with Demolisher
  • % of Imperial fleets with Rhymer
  • % of fleets with XI7s

What other data might be interesting to look at?

Average deployments per fleet please.

I'm going to edit mine to reflect this but I think most popular objs might help out those found for a bid. "70% of lists include x objective therefore I'm going to build a list that excels at x."

Original Post updated with yet MORE DATA. Including # of ships, # of squadrons, types of ships taken, and some ubiquitous upgrades.

Average deployments per fleet please.

I will work on that. Not sure if the numbers will be terribly different from looking at the average # of ships and squadrons.

I'm going to edit mine to reflect this but I think most popular objs might help out those found for a bid. "70% of lists include x objective therefore I'm going to build a list that excels at x."

Also a good suggestion. I enough folks report that data, I will collate it as well.

The sample size is small with only 2 tournaments compiled, but a couple of things already stand out:

75% of Imperial players brought Demolisher. There were non-Demolisher GSDs, but only in fleets that already had Demolisher in them.

More than half of the Rebel fleets brought Nebulons! That was unexpected.

Roughly 1/3rd of the fleets had XI7s. Given how useful they are against Gladiators, Advanced Projectors might be worth the risk.

1 in 5 fleets had no squadrons.

The original post has been updated to include data from the Louisville and Fargo Regionals.

Love the statistical analysis man! Well done!

Thanks, I screwed up and had to re-do parts of it, which was a pain. Glad someone else is getting something out of it.

I really enjoy looking at trends in data like this. So far, the Imperials are really dominating the top tables. I wonder if it will even out?

San Antonio really loved Rhymer, but he was almost not present at all in Louisville.

Louisville loves XI7s.

And Demolisher is everywhere.

I was pleased to see my Vader admiral got into the mix ;) He doesn't get much love...hehe...

It wil actually really be useful to see all the regional data and then Nationals data before worlds.

It's very useful; I too am enjoying looking at the data.

I'm excited to see how the trends go!
