Imperial Version of the UBoat

So we all know how powerful the JM5K is. It's ordnance is devastating and very accurate. So with the Imperial veterans coming out and the TIE Bomber getting some love i was coming up with some way for the Imps to have a UBoat variation. This is what i came up with.

Deadeye

EM

Proton Torpedoes

LRS

26pts

The idea is to take a TL the first turn, focus the second, and use deadeye to keep the TL for dice modification. Plus you get the eyeball to a crit from proton torps. And at 26 points you can run 3 in a list plus some extra filler. Or if you give it plasma torps you can fit 4. You just loose the extra crit from protons.

Is it as scary as the UBoat? Not as no. But it is a good deal cheaper. So what do you think? Is it worth a shot? Will the Empire rise and take advantage of this new ordnance hype?

If you want even close to the jm5k, you go for homing missiles. Then ditch deadeye for a proper shot of crack

I think having even one of these bad boys in a list could put some serious fear of God into various aces. Incredible potential for burst damage.

Now 3 with backup from a ittybitty PS 2 TAPs comittie might be a different story

...why on earth would you go scanners over chips? Particularly with deadeye lol

No, THIS is the Imperial U-boat list:

Whisper (Crack Shot, Stygian Particle Accelerator, Systems Officer), Shadow Squadron Pilot (Stygian Particle Accelerator, Systems Officer), Shadow Squadron Pilot (Stygian Particle Accelerator, Systems Officer).

It'll easily kill one boat before it can fire, a bit of barreling should ensure they won't be able to fire two torpedoes at a single Phantom. Horrible against everything else though. ;)

It has full mods. Decloak, get evade, move, get target lock, take focus action if you can and barrel roll if you have to. With three attacks at 4-5 dice with target lock and possibly focus, against an agility 2 enemy that's offensively crippled if it spends its focus, you'll have to be pretty unlucky if you can't bring it down.

Has more average damage on a ship with 1+ agility than a single jumpmaster, at 32pts. PS8 included, survivability is the only problem.

I was experimenting with Jonus+2 bombers + Inquisitor last week. I am thinking Colzet could work here too for flipping of those cards face up :)

So here's what I've come up with on my own for super efficient Munitions carriers for the TIE Bomber the come out to a nice 25 points.

TIE Bomber: Gamma Squadron Pilot (18)

Extra Munitions (2)

Homing Missiles (5)

Long-Range Scanners (0)

My current favorite as it hits the hardest, 4 dice with Target Lock and Focus on the 1st attack with the bonus of ignoring Evade tokens is about as good as it gets. PS 4 is really important here, it keeps you from getting ripped apart by PS3 swarms before you can shoot.

Not quite as good, deadeye gives you more flexibility in target selection, but that's about it. Chips alone is not as good as TL+F, and the bump to PS5 is not worth much. You could go to 26 points for Concussions or Proton Torps, which have nice synergy with chips.

Inquisitor with PTL, Thrusters, Title and Tracers.

Omega Sq. /w Crackshot & Weapons Guidance.

I don't think the imperials need UBoat variants. They have great aces. Let an ace lead 3 of them or 2 of them and 2 blockers to really gum up the board.
