So we know what Systems officer does now

Looks like the common guestimation was correct for this card, looks pretty useful :D

Very useful............indeed.

A cheaper Jendon effect on the Lambda Shuttle!

Or on Jendon, hand out 2 Target locks a turn.

And Imperial only, thank the one true god Lord Cthulhu that we finally get SOMETHING exclusive to help our ordnance! The one faction without turrets needs it.

Definitely one of my favorite artworks for X Wing so far.

it really says "Yes, Me, I ordered the Chinese food. How much do I owe you?"

I like to think of it more as a final 'peace out' before a firey death.

This is probably silly, but Fleet Officer could be put on a PS10 Boba Fett. He could acquire a Target Lock for himself as his action, and by picking a green at PS10, he could provide a Target Lock to someone else as well. Who needs Long Range Sensors?

wrong officer, but yes he can.

Always leery about pure support, especially when range restricted

Don't think it would've been broken @1 point

Fleet Officer plus Systems Officer plus Twin Ion Engines Mk 2 = excellent support shuttle. I'll actually probably use this, especially to give bonus actions to aces so that they can maneuver/act defensively.

Holy crap, I could possibly even let Kir Kanos hit the table with this guy around....

The thing about Jendon is it can hadn out targetlocks from any range. Sure a TIE bomber could take LRS but then it could not have the shuttle title.

And omega ace too. Easy to get focus+lock when someone just gives it to you.

x4 Lambda Tactician + Systems Officer? Fly them tight in a line?

x4 Lambda Tactician + Systems Officer? Fly them tight in a line?

Why? They could already take fcs

I'm trying to visualize how best to make this guy work (I'm thinking primarily of a munitions oriented squad of Bombers/Punishers here). Because it only procs when his carrier's end-of-maneuver position is at R1 of my TL recipient ("shooter"), and even then my shooter has to have a worthwhile enemy ship at R1-3 to lock onto.

That sort of argues for putting SysO on a higher-PS ship: my low-PS shooters move toward the combat zone, the mid-PS enemies move into TL range, then the SysO carrier moves in behind my shooters to grant one of them the TL. With Tie Mk II on the carrier (assuming a TIE bomber in the shuttle role), this allows for plenty of 2- and 3-speed maneuvers for the overall formation, or even 4- and 5-speed maneuvers for my shooters.

Or do I put him on a low-PS ship that's just going to slow-roll forward in formation with my slow moving, higher-PS ordnance shooters? Here maybe we want LRS on the shooters. The SysO carrier moves forward 1, either ahead of the starting formation, or into R1 of the forward positioned shooter, grants a TL to a shooter who may not have the enemy in range to fire yet (hence LRS), and then the higher-PS shooter advances at full available speed into the furball.

Either way, it seems like you can arrange some great shots in your initial engagement or two, but once the furball begins, it becomes difficult to really take advantage of him.

Thinking this through, I'm liking the idea of SysO with FleetO on a TIE Shuttle flanked by a pair of Punishers: one of the Punishers will have the action economy to boost into a close engagement while still having TL+F.

that turn 1 TL modification

You'll be missing more turns of tl due to non green maneuvers than the first turn tl due to fcs

wrong officer and wrong faction :) would be fun though ;)

The systems officer would be real good on a TIE/sf with a crew slot. Just putting that out there.

You can just run Jonus in a Shuttle with a Systems Officer and grant everyone nearby with a ghetto Target Lock and two ships a Focus. How about this:

Jonus in TIE Shuttle with Wired and Fleet Officer for 26 points.

That's 26 points of pure support which could've been 26 points of Omega L

So the ship you are allowing to get a target lock is not limited by target lock range correct?

So you can put this ship in formation with other bombers with Guidance Chips, and have them stall in the back until this ship gets them target locks, then have them fly in for their alpha strike, yes?

Nice crew. All the benefits of K4 security droid, and able to hand off the target lock to range one, for a point less.

*edit*

Duh. I missed "another" in the card text. Still very handy considering how often Imperials fly in formation!
