System Open Top 8!

By MegaSilver, in X-Wing

Vote for the System Open ships! You can only vote once!

https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2016/4/15/narrowing-the-field/

I voted for underused ships, but also for those they take up the majority of points in the list; that way someone just won't toss in one ship as filler to meet the requirements. (Looking at you Syck, unfortunately.)

yeah I voted for all the underused ones too

Punisher, X-Wing etc

Megasilver, sorry your Z-95 didn't make the cut ;)

Really hoping the Tie Punisher makes it through. I love Redline and Deathrain and that'd be fun to watch.

So Scyk v Misthunter first round...

I see how it is FFG...

Heh, I'm fine with it. I wouldn't want them in there anyway.

Yeah, I'm rooting between the Punisher and Imperial Firespray myself. Either one making it would be fine by me.

Starviper for me for Scum, and the HWK for Rebels.

So if I understand FFG correctly the only way to vote is via Twitter?

Brackits are fun.

I must be overlooking it, but how do you vote? It shows the ships, but there is not anywhere to select the ships.

Never mind. I figured out you have to be signed into a google account for the voting to show up.

Lost my interest when I realized it involved Twtiter

This was my thought process as well, I'd like to see what people do with a syck, but the reality is theyll probably just come up with the best 86 point list they can

The twitter thing is a separate contest entirely, giving you a chance to win the double sided cards from the System Open.

No there are google Forms on the page that OP linked where you can vote.

Twitter is only involved if you want to be entered to win prizes.

Thanks for setting me straight. Sorry for causing confusion.

I want to see new ships being flown, so:

TIE Punisher, because there are enough Decimators out there.

Firespray, because you don't need to encourage people to use Soontir or Carnor.

TIE Defender, because I love them and opening to door to a Palp shuttle isn't creative.

TIE Bomber, because, unless we could specify "Echo," many phantoms are still roaming.

HWK, because it's a HWK.

B-Wing, but this one was hard, the A-wing swarms are fun.

X-Wing, but hopefully not just all Biggs.

Ghost, to suck down the points, and because having everyone run Corran wouldn't be that different.

StarViper, because I already voted for rebel HWKs.

Kihraxz, though I could go either way.

Mist hunter, because although it would be fun to see Scyks, it's easy for them to just be a low-level "gotta use it" generic

Slave 1, because you don't need to encourage people to use Scouts or Dengar.

Hopefully, we get to see very varied lists as opposed to just mirror matches of currently strong lists!

Exactly the same ships I voted for, and for basically the same reasons.

How did the Lamda shuttle get there? Who would have voted they want to see it more?

Tie Punisher because I want to see the best use them.

Slave 1 because who wants to see more Soontir?

Tie Defender because they are awesome, even before the new titles.

Tie Bomber because.....TIE BOMBER!!!! Well, and I hate the Phantom.

Rebel HWK, but it was a hard one. I figure people would just take Miranda.

A-wings are more fun than B-wings.

X-wing because that's the name of the game we play! I've seen enough Fat Hans in this lifetime.

E-wing is what I picked, but I hope it isn't Corn Hole.

Starviper is one of my favorite! I want to see the best fly this.

Kihraxz is what I want to see, because I want to see it shine.

Scyk needs some more love, but it was a tough call, too.

Love the Punishing One.

Here is the risk with the Defender being the Imperial ship. If Imperial Veterans is released and allowed for the Coruscant Invitational and the Defender wins, the Imperials will be forced to use a powerful ship, which is just fine. But, if the other 2 factions are forced to use "Lemons" it puts the Imperial lists at a distinct advantage.

It gets tricky because each player will be bringing a list from each faction and will have to play each list once. But, that doesn't mean you will face a list from each faction. It's possible that some players will face lists from the same faction more than once, or all three times. If the Imperial lists have an advantage by not having to use a dud ship, any player that has to face Imperial lists more will be at a disadvantage compared to another player than may only have to face M3-A Scum lists.

Personally, I'd like to not have that happen to anyone there. I love that the Defender is getting attention, but if it's voted in it could be creating an imbalance if the fix is out before Coruscant. It would be better if each faction had to use a ship that creates a similar disadvantage, or advantage.

Vote for what you want to see, but please realize that voting for a Defender could create an unbalanced tournament for the competitors. Especially with a huge fix for that ship just on the horizon.

That's my 2 cents on the subject.

I wanted to vote E-Wing as well, but as many have stated, we don't need to see more Corran Horn. It makes me hope they continue to do different fun modified formats with other restrictions as the games get bigger. If there was a way to vote in the E-Wing, but ban Corran, I think that would be interesting.

Remember that this is just the first round of voting. I don't think the Tie Defender will win out vs. the other ships that make it to the second round.

I hope you are right. I just want people to realize that a vote for the Defender today, may not be the same ship being voted for that's played in London.

The problem is that currently the defender is paired with the shuttle, which wouldn't be any better becaues then you just get palpshuttles and palp aces lists. Gotta vote for one of them, and between the 2 I'd rather see the defender. Can still vote for something else instead in the next round of voting.

Totally fair point, and I don't disagree. I just wanted to draw attention to the issue I could see coming with the Defender.

Makes sense. I voted for the defnder because I don't want palpshuttles in every imperial list, but I totally don't intend to vote for it as the actual final ship.

I hope the Imp Firespray, Rebel HWK, and Starviper wins.
