Death F does absolutely nothing for drop on reveal bombs
So just wanting to make sure I understand his ability, I can choose to either drop by bomb after revealing my maneuver dial or I can do my movement choose my action then drop my bomb. He also would allow me to do an action and drop a mine.

Not exactly. His ability doesn't supercede the "1 bomb per round" rule. All his ability allows, is that you can drop a bomb that requires an action either when you reveal your maneuver or after taking another action and this bomb drop is a free action.
So his ability works with:
proximity mine
cluster mine
connor net
the order would be:
reveal maneuver
choice to drop connor net as free action
perform maneuver
take action
choice to drop connor net as a free action, if you didn't drop one earlier.

Normally, bombs that use the "ACTION:" header are dropped during your Perform Action step. Deathfire allows you to drop those bombs when you reveal your dial, and also lets you drop them as a free action after you've performed another action--like, say, a barrel roll.
Much like Dark Curse, I like to think Deathfire has the Hodor/pokemon syndrome where he can only say his own name.

I think I prefer LRS on this build. IPM lets you use the target lock anyway, and I'd rather take a turn one lock and a focus when I'm using the missile.

Now that is an upgrade I want. I play a four Tie Bomber force all the time, but an upgrade like this would be even more fun.
