So we had Deathrain...
Now we have Deathfire...
Will we have Deathwind, Deathearth, and be able to make a Captain Planet bombing list?!

No. You'd need Deathheart as well for Captain Planet bombing list. Probably wouldn't fit in 100 points. Too powerful.

I hope not; this is FFG not GW we're talking about here.
Not gonna lie, I am liking the Tactician/Systems Officer combo on a Baffled Shuttle. Especially for just two points for the SO. Might make Patrol Leaders happy in the right setup, too.
Edited by PrincezillaDeath fire with conners extras (is the only way to fly) is...23 points.
Unreliable since he can't "joust" like death rain but far far cheaper. Might be okay. Same PS as uboats; will shut them down with initiative bid + conners
Action is not specified; should trigger off of squad leader or similar. Could trigger off of EU boost, but then you're 1 over juke relay omega L
Alternative: IPM brings him to OL prices (gchip/scanners for free). Ion for days
NerCan anyone explain to me why Systems Officer needed to be faction specific? Especially with it being limited, that seems curious.
Guess because fleet off is also imp only
misread

K4 Security Droid + Systems Officer.
No EPT... Unfortunately, that means he'll likely end up in the bin with the other non-EPT pilots on EPT ships... sigh...
Sure there's no EPT, but it's a 1-point step up from Scimitar Squadron for a fantastic ability--you double your placement options. And it comes with a pretty nice PS for what you want him to do.
Would K4+ Systems officer really be bonkers though? I don't think it would be an earth shattering combo.
I think this faction specific implication may simply be thematic. There are no officers in the scum faction, so it makes sense to make it faction specific based on that.
Going out on a limb here to say we'll never use Mr system
Synergy is oft overrated and we can get full mods independent of it off enough
Only interesting thing is I'm sure you can give the TL to soonts and such, if you ever formation fly as him
Imo should a been 1 point. At 22 the double support bomber (officers + tiemk2) seems cute but its also 22 points of tie fighter offense
Edited by ficklegreendiceYou know what's fun with Systems Officer. Giving Soontir a Target Lock.
Oh no... You're right... No EPT... Unfortunately, that means he'll likely end up in the bin with the other non-EPT pilots on EPT ships... sigh...
Not true at all, that's an insanely good ability for essentially free. You get 2 connor nets with incredible bomb dropping options for 23 points and bombers are really really not ept dependant unlike some ships.
EPIC Jonus would make a nice AWACS bomber at 32 pts.
Squad Leader, TIE Shuttle, Fleet Officer, Systems Officer, Experimental Interface.
These'll be cool and great for fun lists but I'm really curios how well they'll make it to the tournament scene. (Not saying they won't I just can't form an opinion one way or another)

That said, it is cheap which is the most important thing
Ept doesn't really matter outside arush for 5k roll plop out conners, which will now sadly never happen

Little death rain! So cute
Obviously nowhere near as good, sadly; doesn't even have an ept for Arush
Both. You fly BOTH.
It will be interesting to see if TIE Shuttle support builds start popping up. This is just 22 points, and does a lot for your action economy:
Scimitar Squadron Pilot (16)
Fleet Officer (3)
Systems Officer (2)
Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)
TIE Shuttle (0)
This is my jam. You can get a LOT of ace for 38 points, and that's two lotta aces.
Or maybe three notsolotta aces.
IMHO, Systems Officer is fine, but not great. It's a fantastic mechanic/concept, but he's a tad too restrictive. For the same triggering cost (perform a green) K4 Droid gives you a target lock. That's a target lock anytime that any enemy is in R1-R3, and you do a green move. It's pretty solid, but not bananas good. It really restricts a dial.
This card is one point less, but does the same thing, but only for another friendly ship, AND only at R1. That means you've got to do a green move, and end this green move at R1 of friendly ship, and then that friendly ship has to have an enemy within R1-R3 that it wants to take a target lock on (still have same TL problems if your support ship has low PS, in the pre-combat rounds, especially since the friendly may not have moved yet).
It's fine, but I'd like to have seen this work at R1-R2 so it has the same operating range as Fleet Officer. Imperials have tons of great ships with lots of green on their dial, but unfortunately, these aren't the ships where you'll be putting support crew, so aside from the Tie Shuttle, ships that want to try and benefit from this are going to have very limited options. It's going to take some precision to make this thing pay any real kind of dividends.
Edited by CBMarkhamHow does this work? How do you get a Long range scanner on a ship with no modification slot?

Yes, with a big asterisk: that Range 1 leash on the Lambda is a big hurdle for a lot of ships, and it probably won't be reliable once the first pass is done.

All ships have a modifcation slot.

ALL ships have the mod slot. There is no symbol for the mod slot on ANY ship's bar. It's just a universal slot for ALL ships.

If you want to go for for the spinning rims and leather seat option:
Tomax Bren (24)Cool Hand (1)Fleet Officer (3)Systems Officer (2)Twin Ion Engine Mk II (1)TIE Shuttle (0)Bren gets a Focus and Evade token for himself, plus grants a Focus and Target lock to another friendly ship at PS8.
I think I'd rather split the difference and go with this:
K4 Security Droid + Systems Officer.
Also Lando with Push the Limit, Systems Officer and Kyle. ![]()

Definitely not super reliable, but hear me out: what if you run two shuttles like that. Fly them up in tandem and you've got two 3ATK TL+F guns, with 20HP total, and you've got another 48 points to spend. The Baffles really helps those things stay in the fight, too.
I'll have to try it out before I start the proselytizing but I've got a good feeling about it.

Systems Officer says ANOTHER friendly ship
Sadly no self TL gifts.
That's why I said he grants a Focus and Target Lock to another friendly ship. Bren just gets to keep one Focus token from the Fleet Officer, plus an evade token from Cool Hand due to the stress.
