For those of you unused to colliquial British sayings, easy-peasy, pudding and pie means something is extremely simple.
So here's my easy-peasy moment.
Scrap Elimination Rounds and play tournaments on a purely Swiss basis.
There is nothing in the tournament rules stating that a cut to the top 8 or 4 etc. is mandatory and for me playing a Swiss only tournament would have several benefits.
1. ID's would be a rarity. Even if you made it to the top table in the last round and both you and your opponent were on the same points, one of you would have to win, taking a draw and sharing points isn't going to resolve that.
2. People further down the pecking order get more game time instead of having to go home after 4, 5 or 6 six games.
3. It can easily be adjusted to reflect the number of attendees.
4. You're always going to be playing against someone who is around the same skill level (as decided by current point total) as yourself, so you have a chance of winning.
I'm pretty certain that this has been brought up before, but given that X-Wing is at heart a do or die game, I feel that it is a way to do away with the ambiguity that has recently been introduced, and will force people to play.
As always, thoughts, comments and criticisms, more than welcome and appreciated.
Cheers
