NPC, Monster stand up components

By The Asgardian, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I have noticed that there are only one of each monster stand up (1 beastman, 1 skeleton, etc...) in my core set.

Havent completely read the four books yet, but does the abstract combat allow for several beastmen to be represented by one standup and if so, do all of them have to do the same actions such as engaging one hero?

Sure, as long as they are near each other, in the same engagement for example, 1 stand up (or mini) could represent anything you want.

I was definitely wondering what was up with the one stand up for each monster and no multiples :)

Yeah, lack of standees is a problem. I've just been using the standee for the big bad and tracking tokens for his henchmen.

Or you could go the expensive route and buy some Warhammer mini's : p

Finally glad that I bought that box of beastmen oh so long ago.

If you only have one stand up for each monster type, how do you track multiples of the same party threat during combat? How do you allocate damage to say, 4 beastmen for example?

If you want to go low-tech with standees, you can always photocopy the images onto cardstock (or even do both sides onto paper and fold for some strength) and put them into binder clips - you probably already have these lying around your house.

After that you can easily remove the handles (keep them safe for reuse) and you have some instant, cheap, reusable standees.

Not as good as the FFG standees or as good as GW's excellent range of miniatures, but it will do in a pinch (pun intended)

Happy Gaming!
