Dash + Biggs List

By EasyE, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I have recently had success with the following list in casual games at my LGS.

YT-2400-Dash Rendar (36)

VI (1)

"Mangler" Cannon (4)

Title (5)

Mercenary Copilot (2)

Total- 48 pts

X-Wing- Biggs Darklighter (25)

R2-D2 (4)

Total- 29

X-Wing- Red Squadron Pilot (23)

I know that most conventional "Super Dash" builds incorporate the HLC, but for me the Mangler seemed a much better choice... you avoid the doughnut hole, change a hit to a crit and it is an overall improvement to the 2400's base primary attack. I will probably be ditching the Merc Copilot... it does have a synergy with the Mangler, but only at long range.

I will probably go with Kyle Katarn for crew going forward, and ditch VI.

Biggs does what Biggs does... keeps Dash from getting shot to hell, and R2 keeps the shields up.

RSP will probably get replaced with a RP, basically to add a EPT to Dash or for the initiative bid.

I simply want to take this casual winner and make it more competitive.

Any constructive criticism would be appreciated.

Hi Easy, and welcome!

I'll be honest with you, I'm not a fan of Mangle-Dash, but I'm guessing you want to stick with it, so I've rewritten your list to be a bit more competitive, but keeping the same kind of feel ...

Dash Rendar (51) YT-2400 Freighter (36), Push the Limit (3), “Mangler” Cannon (4), Kanan Jarrus (3), Outrider (5)

Biggs Darklighter (26) X-Wing (25), R4-D6 (1), IA (0)

Rookie Pilot (22) X-Wing (21), R2 Astromech (1), IA (0)

PTL & Kanan make Dash extremely hard to predict - you can't afford an engine upgrade, but you'll still leave a lot of people guessing with this Dash.

Biggs will be getting hit with a lot of ordnance these days, so R4 comes in real handy. Red gets busted down to rookie, but gains an integrated astromech for his trouble. This list should do significantly better for you. While it's not what I'd be running, I'm sure with practice you could make it tournament worthy :)

I appreciate the input. I haven't yet purchased The Ghost or a T-70, so some of those upgrades are not yet in my collection, but I will definitely be picking them up.

As I play primarily Imperial squads, it has been fun expanding into the Rebellion a little, and I like the challenge of stepping out of my comfort zone.

Have you tried tactical jammer?

Also, i like the red squad over the rookie to PS kill stuff

Mangler on dash is a no go. If you want mangler just take Falcon - same firepower, while way better durability. Really Mangler-dash was some crazy invention that never worked. To nullify the R1 hole you use engine upgrade,PtL and recently Kanan for best mobility in the game.

Biggs wants the Integrated Astromech ALWAYS. And i really mean ALWAYS.

Red Squadron Pilot in T65 for 23 points vs Blue Squadron Novice in T70 for 24.....do we really have to even consider T65 here?

The concensus seems to be Mangler Dash looks good on paper, but just doesn't cut

the mustard.

I will need to revamp some things and do some more gaming.

But that is the fun of the game, yes?

Thanks for the input, guys.

Really need to acquire a T-

Exacly. There is just no point in reducing the firepower to Falcon levels without getting anything in return. Like i said: if your not feeling confident about keeping them out of R1, just fly the Falcon.

Most of us do it about twice a year when new wave hits, so dont worry :D Im currently getting my azz kicked while trying to find MY ghost build.
