in the last game, the PCs stole the original blue prints and the prototyp of the X-Wing from a Sinar Fleet Systems R&D-Tower on Coruscant for the Corellian Resistance in 7 BBY. Unfortunately during escape through the Coruscanti sky, the X-Wing (with the pilot PC) was shot down by TIE Fighters. I gave the player the chance to land it safetly by a daunting pilot check but he hadn't any successes to spare, however, a triumph. I decieded that, the X-Wing crashes somewhere on the surface and he could save himself from death with the ejection seat.

Where could he have landed and where could have the ship crashed? Preferably places which even imperials try to avoid, maybe the job to find both was assigned to bounty hunters...

The plante could be unhabitated and without any valuable, so the Imperial avoided it. However, that's nothing here avoiding imperial from swarming on the planet

THe X-Wing was destroyed and Imperial saw no sign of life form ejecting, so they will land with minimal force just to recover data. However, they need someone to place inside wreck or the Empire will swarm searching for them.

Other ideas could be:

- the planet is harsh and hostile, maybe with ferocious local animals, dangerous environment, or like, and so Empire is not risking descending on the planet, just making a blockade to prevent allied from rescuing the PC and using local bounty hunter to do the difficult job

- the planet is homeworld of a political force allied to the Empire, and a display of force is not really an option. However, they can hire a bounty hunter to "remove them without creating political rumors"

- the chasing fleet is under Admiral Sbiriguda, while the planet/sector is under the grip of Moff Antani. There's a lot of enmities between Sbiriguda and Antani, the former accusing the latter of being a rebel sympathizer (could be true, or false, your choice). So long Sbiriguda does'nt whant to let Antani knows there are rebels with vital information on the planet, and he can't land his army without Antani's consent...

in everyway, could be cool creating the BH not as a cold blooded assassin but as a trained and skilled detective, with ideals, and in the end of the adventure (or after several adventures) will ends up helping the PC. Of course he could have some thugs doing the dirty job for him, but he's not the one attacking them with heavy weapon, more like being several step forward and cutting them off guard...

If the chase was through the Coruscant sky, and the pilot subsequently crash landed on Coruscant, then the most terrifying experience I can imagine was to have it crash at the polar ice cap.

See, on Coruscant, in order to supply water to the city-world, the polar ice caps are melted by orbiting mirrors on space stations. Imagine the horror of being in an sub-arctic environment that could at any second be superheated from -130C to 0C in an instant by what is effectively giant space lasers!

Another option would be to have the ship crash through the upper levels into the depths of the underground - a lawless slum that is inhabited mostly by the cities old alien contingent, who were forced underground into the old ruins of the city when the Empire rose.

If he crash landed on Coruscant then there are a couple of possibilities...

1) The fighter careered into the interior of Coruscant the pilot was ejected but his chute separated from him shortly afterwards and it was spotted burning wrapped around a thermal exhaust vent several levels down. The pilot was knocked out and crashed through a disused apartment waking up shortly after being stripped of anything useful short of their undies...

The good news is that the storm trooper platoon heading for them is looking for a suspected Rebel Pilot not a civilian in their underpants the bad news is that they will probably take them in for questioning admittedly as long as they don't have a record at least they have a good chance of escaping otherwise... are they good at unarmed fighting, survival trained both wilderness and urban as those both qualify beneath Coruscant?

2) The good news the fighter careered into a tower on the other side of a massive opening that leads straight past Level 1313 (see the game video for details!) the bad part is that your pilot was picked up by a group of scoundrels who have a request you cannot refuse for you...

Apparently a friend of theirs was captured and is being sent into the depths of Coruscant aboard a freighter guarded by two bounty hunters and they need a pilot to help them recover their lost comrade...

And if you want a visual impression check out Star Wars 1313 on You tube just remember yes that second bounty hunter is supposed to be Boba Fett doesn't mean it has to be in your game though!!!

Level 1313 comes to mind.
