Best option for Imperial Fett

I always liked this Boba Fett. Problem was, we just came out of a super stress heavy meta in which hooking PtL up to this guy was asking for trouble.


Boba starts off as a big clunker at PS8 with PtL for double actions, but he goes into overdrive when he's into hull and has taken a damage card. Once he's got a damage card, you stop using PtL during Boba's action step and start using PtL when Ysanne triggers at the start of combat. This gives you a chance to boost (and correct your firing arc, if need be) after PS9, PS10 and PS11 ships have activated.


PS8 is actually kind of a thing right now, so if you take a 1 or 2pt initiative bid, you can actually make use of his ability (when it's relevant, and you're in the middle of the field) and combine it with the boost to give yourself a variety of options, regarding your final destination.


The other 50pts can either be upgrades for Fett (Missiles, Bombs, Cannons, etc) or can get purely into other ships.

You get some good mileage out of Boba, and Kath is your designated Ace Neuter-er, with her cluster shot that can double stress someone.
Boba can definitely be upgraded from VI to PtL, bringing the point total to 99, still preserving that 1 point Initiative bid. However, as it stands, Boba can now select any bank maneuver if he selects one, and can then push the limit. Or, change the navigator out for Ysanne, and go to town with that combo. Up to you really.

Does anyone else like Gunner as a crew for Boba?

I was thinking of that, as I'm working out an Imperial Boba.

For my preferences, I think PTL might be too much. Whereas Engine Upgrade seems great on a bigger ship (more movement for the points cost).

The list looks interesting.

I think Imperial Boba (and the Firespray in general) is in a good place right now as an ordnance carrier, actually. His ability ensures the arc against lower PS, even if it's something to not write home about. If you can afford the loss of Engine Upgrade, I can this could cut it for you:

And now you can upgrade OSP into a PTL Saber or whatever you can fit with 24 pts left (maybe leave a couple of points for initiative bid?).

I'm liking Boba in this current meta, as his pilot ability increases in usefulness as we start seeing more builds designed to block and action inhibit large ships. (This of course in response to the dominance of U-boats right now).

I've been toying with putting a recon spec on a firespray rather than Ms. Isard and play to the advantage of that extra agility.

I'm not sure, but does Isard's free evade action stop you from performing your own evade action? If not, I can see why she would be so great. If so, odds would favour a recon spec instead.

Also, I'd like to attach a Long Range Sensors mod to my Firespray and try to joust with it. If everything works out, on the first round of combat you'll be stacked with 1 target lock, 1 evade, and 2 focus tokens

Captain Oicunn does a good job of breaking up formations, doubly so with Ruthlessness. With more ships spread across the playmat, my Firespray will have no problems getting a target in firing arc.

I would switch out countermeasures for Vader crew, every day of the week! It also gets you into Isard territory sooner.

You just said two different thing. I'm putting them in bold in your quote here:

The first thing you said is correct. Ysanne gives you a free evade ACTION. The second thing you said is incorrect, Ysanne does not just give an evade token (although, clearly the evade token happens, as a result of the evade action). It's an evade action that she triggers. Because this upgrade allows you to perform an action at the start of the combat phase, after you perform that action, you may use Push the Limit to perform another free action on your upgrade bar, then take a stress.

Old trick, most commonly used with a Decimator. Lots of fun. Was terrible in the last meta which was very stress heavy, but is probably fine to dust off now, since the current meta is mostly Imperial Aces and U-Boats, which don't deal heavily in stress.

You dont. You don't fly imperial Boba. Anything Boba can do, Hera in the attack shuttle can do better. Fly scum Boba.
