Re-roll fleet

See how I have a history of horrible dice rolls, I figured I would try to figure out a fleet that would let me re-roll all those bad rolls I get. I do have one question on Darth Vader, does his card effect the ship he is on as well? and any suggestions with this fleet?

Darth Vader, as an Admiral, affects all Friendly Ships.

"While a Friendly Ship..."

If it was to work on everything but his, it would say:

"While another friendly ship."

interesting choice..

Drop the VSDII to a VSDI with ordnance experts and upgrade the GSD to Demolisher.

I might also drop an engineering captain for a gunnery team or flight controllers.

I would replace Leading Shots with SW7 given that Vader already provides for rerolls. I would also think about putting Needa and TRC to VSD (and returning XI7 to ISD) to beef up its long range capabilities.

I've been running a knockoff clonisher fleet with Vader + ord experts.... The key I feel to making this work is understanding how a double reroll works. It's something that just pulls your average roll higher.

And it depends on what results you need. For example, when I'm rolling my demolisher, which just has raw damage, I reroll all blanks on my first roll, and all blanks on my second. (Usually.)

But if I'm rolling my raiders, with apts, and I -need- to get a crit, I reroll all non crits.

I think it can be worth it, but you have to get good use out of the second reroll... I find Vader worth it on raiders/glads because by the time they're shooting, they've got useless defense tokens to exhaust. A ranged fleet like yours... You may hurt yourself with a Vader reroll.

That is my luck on rolls, last week was once again a horrible roll week for me. 8 die on the ISD out the front and only 2 hits 5 miss and 1 target lock. That was why I looked at making a fleet around re rolling die. Because I simply suck at rolling. Even had 5 Tie bombers and 4 out of those 5 rolls was miss.

That is a normal roll of the die for me, so had to try something to give myself a chance to get at least 4-5 hits
