Question on Skirmisher Combo

By Luijod, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

I was looking over the Skirmisher class cards as I recently had a chance to play as Heroes.

it's my understanding that you could potentially, legally, combo 4 pretty nasty skill cards if you happen to have enough stamina:

First Action -> Carve a Path: Apply +1 to your Speed. Action: Move up to your Speed, then perform an attack. During this movement, you may move through spaces containing enemy figures. This attack affects each monster you moved through during this action. (Cost 3 Fatigue)

  • Dual Strike: Exhaust this card when you perform an attack, before dice are rolled. If you have 2 Melee weapons with 1 hand icon each equipped, add 1 Surge to the results. You may use the Surge abilities on both weapons during the attack. (Cost 2 Fatigue)
  • Unstoppable: Apply +1 to your Stamina. Each time you perform an attack with a Melee weapon, after dice are rolled, you may change each X result to another result of your choice.
  • Unrelenting: Exhaust this card after resolving an attack with a Melee weapon with 1 hand icon. Perform an attack that targets one of the same monsters with a different Melee weapon with 1 hand icon. (Cost 1 Fatigue)

I believe that if you have the 6 Stamina required to pull it off you could carve a path through as many enemies as your speed allows (minus 1 because you need to end movement in an empty space). Then because after you move up to your speed and then you preform an attack you could exhaust dual strike, and then if you are adjacent to one of your victims who is left standing you can exhaust unrelenting, because it says to preform an attack that targets one of the same monsters. It never states to attack a target you previously targeted, just a monster that was attacked, after said attack was resolved.

Unstoppable of course explains itself. If you have Keen Edge or Deep Wounds (and somehow... 7 Stamina... is that even possible for the Warriors?) then it gets even nastier.

****, very stamina heavy but what a great combo!

Orkell the Swift and Eliam have 5 speed and 5 fatigue (Corbin also has 5, but only 3 speed).

Give them the ring of power and buy unstoppable, and you got your 7 stamina :)

I played a camapign as Orkell the Skirmisher and did a lot of this. Note that deep wounds will only work on one monster per attack.

When heroes go for combo's like this, it's important for the OL to bring the right tools to the game. Kyndrithul's or Ardus Ix'Erebus plot deck could grind that combo to a screeching halt.

There are probably other plot decks that would help, but these would work perfectly.
