Rundown of Attani Mindlink & Stress?

By Kapten Vendetta, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hi y'all, my seach-fu is weak and I can't seem to find the topic, even if I'm sure I've seen it before.

Anyway...

4 ships, Mindlinked, same PS; maneuvers:

A does white, takes a Focus, all ships get one.

B does red, no action but focus from A, all ships get a stress

C does green, clearing stress, takes a Target Lock

D does same as C.

We end up with:

A & B with Focus and stress.

C & D with Focus & Target Lock.

Is this correct, or am I missing something?

Round 2 (to see if I'm still getting it)

C does red, no action, D gets a stress, A & B does not, 'cause they have one already

A does green, clearing stress, takes a Focus, all ships get one.

B does white, no action, still stressed.

D does green, clearing stress and takes a Target Lock.

We end up with:

A with Focus

B & C with Focus and stress.

D with Focus & Target Lock

Still correct?

I know there are a number of combos, just want to make sure I understand the above scenarios, and that my thinking is correct in relation to the maneuvers selected.

Thanks in advance!

It's true. All of it.

It may depend on activation order. When you go A,B,C,D are your PS such that C,A,B,D is equally valid? To put it another way are A,B,C all the same PS?

Sorry about that, yes they are the same PS.

Yes, it seems to be working. Note that another possibility is (new scenario):

A - moves, does a focus action, everyone gets a focus.

B - B moves, does a focus action. The focus cannot spread (because A already has one).

A ends up with a focus

B ends up with 2 focuses

It's something to keep in mind if you already have a target lock or think that having an additional focus would help with defense.

Stress stacks, so on the 2nd round A and B would have 2 stress tokens.

Attanni Mindlink will only give stress tokens to unstressed ships (and focus tokens to ships without one already).

Really?!?!

Where do you see that?

On the card itself...?

Haha im stupid

I see it now

I misread that last part

Thanks

I have a question.
Ship A is a PS3 ship with Attanni Mindlink while ship B is a PS9 one.
During planning Ship A declares a 3 bank (white) and ship B a koiogran turn which is red.

During the activation Phase Ship A overlaps some debris and gets stress.. which obviously gets assigned to ship B as well, right? And what happens when Ship B activates, since it is now a stressed ship with a red maneuver assigned to it?

B's manuver is now not a legal manuver and the opponent gets to chose B's manuver

Attanni Mindlink can be really helpful or it can be a real hindrance. There doesn't seem to be much middle ground though.

Works real well with two ships, two Ig88 or just two ships in the fleet. Also it works very well when you have ships that move at the same PS, giving you lots of options as who moves first, who sheds stress or makes stress. If you do take them I do advise not taking d-fields obstacles, you don't want things that make stress in the activation phase.

I find the Mindlink also tends to work better on ships with the same PS. That way you have a little more leeway in managing when any stress hits your build.
