Seems potentially very powerful for only 3 points. Mitigated by short range and the discard clause though, this might be an interesting idea to playtest.

It would be great on a ship that had already suffered a single critical damage that you knew was powerful - or that had suffered "Structural Damage". But it was mostly spit-balling from the top of my head. As usual.
Interesting variation could be a mini-Dodonna - "4pts - When this ship attacks and causes the standard critical effect, after the face-up damage card is revealed, you may exhaust this card to force your opponent to discard that damage card and draw a new one, and deal it face-up to the defending ship."
Or, something, I dunno, my wording's awful there.
See, if it was really thematic, you could go for "50pts - When Luke Skywalker deals a critical damage to an enemy ship, you may discard this card to immediately destroy the defending ship."
Probably worth more than 50 points...

i kind of hope not. Mara Jade was a Jedi (eventually) and that made the pair so lovable.
I would be disappointed if they introduced someone else to marry luke.
